I am not Edgar Cayce nor am I Nostradamus whose predictions have rung true some’ of the time. I certainly am not a prophet like Daniel, Isaiah, Nathaniel, or Jeremiah whose Biblical predictions were 100% accurate ALL’ of the time. I do not have a third eye in my forehead that enables me to see the future nor do I wear a Swami turban, but I can make an accurate prediction of my own and it concerns you.

Clear your mind of all clutter for a moment and give me 110% concentration. Now visualize what I am going to say about you because it WILL come true. I predict that you will lose everything you have just like Job did. You are going to lose your spouse and children. You are going to lose your job. You are going to lose all of your money, and possessions and every friend you have. You are going to end up completely alone, penniless, totally destitute, jobless, and your health will completely fail.

This is a frightening thought is it not? Nonetheless that is exactly what happens to us all when we die. All material possessions will be stripped from us. Our bodies will no longer function. Our family, career, and friends will be left behind.

Further, as we enter the spiritual world we will also face God alone and spend eternity and remain alone in this condition, UNLESS of course we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Savior. If so, He will be waiting for us on the other side of death and has promised to walk through the “valley of the shadow of death’ with us. He will be with us at the Judgment Seat and will plead our case before the Father and will win that case reminding God that our punishment for our sins has already been paid by none other than Him. He will accompany us to a mansion that he has prepared especially for us. The street we live on will be paved with gold and we will live in peace, harmony, and unparalleled joy in paradise in the presence of the almighty Creator of all forever. Oh what a day of rejoicing it will be!

I suppose you initially thought I was talking about giving up all that you have while still alive on this earth like Job did. Job lost it all and still maintained his faith in God even when being taunted by his friends to curse God. In the end because of his faith in God, his health was restored, he was given a new family and more possessions than ever. As I think about it, what happened to Job is a picture of what will happen to those of us who remain faithful to God and His Son Jesus Christ.

This tells us where we should put our emphasis does it not? Maybe that bank account, new home, car, boat, promotion, friend or ‘whatever’, is just not as important as once thought. Unforgiven sinners will enter Hell. Those who have accepted Jesus will enter heaven. When we enter heaven all that we will take with us will be the remembrance of what we accomplished in this world. Sins will be forgiven and good works will be rewarded. Make your priorities accordingly. Start today! What good work will YOU accomplish for the Lord ‘today’ that will be one of the few things that you will be allowed to take with you when you depart this old world?

Psalm 23:6
Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all of the days of my life; and
I will dwell in the house of the Lord
for ever.
