I saw a video clip this past Sunday of different people being interviewed and they were asked who they thought Jesus Christ was. The people interviewed appeared to be primarily in their twenties and thirties. It was sad to hear their answers. One person said that they had no idea. Another said that they thought he was some sort of historical figure; another that he was some religious guy who had some cool ideas. One girl had heard that he was thought to be God, but that she did not believe it. Person after person after person answered in similar fashion. The answers were sickening and the main theme was that most simply did not have a clue and literally had no idea as to who Jesus Christ is.

This has been haunting me. How can this be? In this day and age in the United States of America people live and are exposed to all our society has to offer and so many of our young people have never even “heard” of Jesus Christ, much less accepted Him as their personal Savior. It would be different in my mind at least if they knew who Jesus Christ was represented to be in the Bible and did not believe it, but to have no idea who Jesus Christ is, or to know so little about Him that they have some faint idea that He was a historical figure is ludicrous. I would imagine if we asked them who was going to get eliminated from American Idol tonight that they could name off several contestants, (hopefully that bald headed guy would be one of them).

Make no mistake about it our society is drifting further and further away from God. Prayer has been banned from school as have the Ten Commandments. It is probably only a matter of time until, “In God we trust” is removed from our currency. Hollywood, television, printed media, the Internet and our educational system in this country appear to be satan’s most powerful tools. Guess what? His strategy is working just like the Bible predicted that it would whereby more and more people would move away from God and Godly things and the world will become more and more evil just like it did in Noah’s day right up until the last day that God says, “Enough!” and sends Jesus to take the Christians out of this world and the Great Tribulation and all of its horror is unleashed on those who are left behind. That day could be today…

Where are the parents? They are their children’s only hope as we move into the “last days”. Get your kids and grandkids in church and Sunday school this Sunday if you want them to have half a chance in this society. Teach them to pray and get them a Bible and explain to them that the Bible is the unerring holy word of God almighty and teach them to study it regularly. And while you are at it at least tell your friends and acquaintances who Jesus Christ is in order that they at least will have an opportunity to accept or reject Him too. “You” may be their only hope of hearing who Jesus Christ is and enabling them to obtain salvation in a world gone mad. One day each of those young people that were in the video will die and face a holy and righteous God and the only hope they will have will be to be cloaked in the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God whom they do not have a clue who He is. Not good…sigh…

John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has
everlasting life; and he who does not
believe in the Son shall not see life, but
the wrath of God abides on him.
