Yesterday I took off and went fishing. What a glorious day it was. The sun was bright and the sky and ocean were deep blue, nice gentle breeze; the whole nine yards. We had an unbelievable catch of fish and had caught all the tuna and Tile fish that we wanted by 1:00. We got home cleaned our fish and boat and after a delicious meal of fresh fish I sat down for a moment to watch the news.

After listening to the lead in stories I turned it off. What a bunch of garbage. The Democrats were lambasting the President about everything they can think of and then some. Another dozen fanatics have killed themselves in their fanaticism. The stock market is sagging. Jeez, it is enough rain to spoil any parade. Had I continued listening I would have gone from sky high to lay-ed low.

I am convinced that there is plenty of good going on this world. Our news media have collectively chosen not to report it, but it is there just the same. I wonder if a good news network could make it in our society. I think it could. Most folks do not want to be bombarded with the negative. We teach our managers to stay positive realizing how important attitude is in determining altitude.

We should try to look for the good in life. The evil will be duly reported and it is inescapable unless you refuse to listen to the radio, watch, TV, or read a newspaper. Look for the good in life and you will find it. God is good all of the time. Remember thatremember also that Jesus instructed numerous times for us to “be of good cheer”. One cannot have peace apart from God. It is there for the asking; if you have not already done so, why not ask Him to take over your life today?

John 16:33
These things I have spoken to
you, that in Me you may have
peace. in the world you will have
tribulation; but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.
