Donald Trump was nearly assassinated over the weekend. He attributed it to a miracle of God, and I believe that. The Democratic ultra-liberals were already claiming it was staged, he had it coming, he is a Nazi, a Fascist, and other nonsense. I watched the video of the shooting that came within a couple of millimeters of killing him and it was not “staged.”
I believe that true to form Satan is spinning the story to muster up doubt. The “Father of all lies” just needs to raise doubts by planting a seed in someone’s mind. Yesterday in church I spoke with a man who was 80 years old. I was making conversation and asked him if he had been following the Trump assassination attempt. He got a funny look on his face and told me that he wasn’t so sure it was not staged.
Yikes! Are you kidding me! I told him that I saw it with my own eyes. He just walked away and did not reply. One would think he would not be that ignorant at 80 years old. I would have hated to talk to him when he was twenty.
Satan had this old man and other loons right where he wanted them. I believe that Jesus had the same problem. He could bring the dead back to life, walk on water, appear to 500 people three days after the died on the cross, make the blind see, cure leprosy and so on and still the Jews did not believe, instead they came up with all sorts of fables for why something happened. Even His own disciples ran away to hide.
The question that begs to be answered is why? The answer is that Satan has not changed His strategy since the Garden of Eden and that is to plants seed of doubt in our minds that even when witnessed with our own eyes go out the window. The lie catches on and spreads like a contagion and the end result is that people dramatically change their viewpoints.
The solution is to be vigilant knowing that our adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Clothe yourself with the full armor of God.
