This morning I saw two videos about young children. One showed a man’s very young son on a Ring camera frantically running down the driveway in his pajamas trying to catch up with his father so he could give him a big hug before he left for work.

The other showed a three-year-old child’s 23-year-old relative, arrested in connection to the unattended gun at their home that the youngster shot himself with while distracted from watching a football game on his computer. He is now facing charges of child neglect resulting in great bodily harm.

Imagine how they must feel right about now. One father is no doubt bursting with pride due to his young son exhibiting abounding love and the other is facing jail time for leaving his child unattended.

Jesus mentions His love for children many times in the Bible. Sadly, many parents do not share His love for them.

Jackie Kennedy was quoted as saying if you bungle raising your children, I don’t think whatever else you do matters very much. Something that goes along with this quote nicely was given to us by Chief Sitting Bull the great Indian chieftain when he said, Let us put our minds together and see what life we can make for our children.

As I mentioned yesterday, I’m trying to start a new ministry centered around children. My focus is based upon preventing young men and women from taking the wrong road in life, keeping in mind that each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children. Those can be the best years of their lives or the worst. We as parents will determine the path we will take.

Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
