I have been attending my grandson’s wedding. It was amazing how he has grown from a little kid into a man. His wedding was beautiful, and a good time was had by all. The next day after the wedding we went salmon fishing and then went crabbing and cod fishing yesterday. We had fresh salmon, Dungeness crabs, and sea bass that was as fresh as it gets for dinner last night and it was dee-licious!

My three sons and their wives, and seven grandkids were all at this event and we have had great fun. I smiled as I saw them interact and the amount of love they all showed for one another. Today, sadly, we all are going our separate ways. I will miss them all.

God has blessed me with a family whereby every member loves Jesus. The youngest grandkids offered the blessing every time we ate, and it nearly brought tears to my eyes as I watched them bow their little heads and offer thanks to their God. I haven’t watched much of the news on this trip, and I was genuinely disappointed scanning the few headlines I saw. I so wish they had the relationship with God that we have. What a different world it would be.

I hope I can live long enough to see how they will all turn out. I’m ashamed of how my generation has left the world in the sordid shape it’s in, but despite it all, God has blessed them and loved them shaping them into what He wants them to be. Hopefully, all of them will be a light on a hill proclaiming their love for God all their days.

I thank God for the blessings He has given me.  Two of my sons and their families will be on the same flight I’m on to Atlanta today. My wife was telling my oldest son who lives in Oregon what a tragedy it would be if our plane went down, and that huge part of our family went down with it. I thought about this and then thought what a day of rejoicing it would be if we all entered heaven together.  I’m betting God will allow us long lives so we can influence others for years to come to come to Jesus. We must always be prepared to honor our Lord and Savior and we know He wants more lost souls to come to Him. Don’t try to beat someone over the head with a Bible but allow them to see the joy in your life as something to strive for.

1 Peter 3:15
But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.
