One day I was mulling over what I deemed to be the number one sin in the world. I must admit there were many sins from which to choose, but I settled on child rape. It is straight out of hell. It weighed so heavily on my heart that I founded a think tank in Washington D.C. to stop child rape, (trafficking). I did so because God put it on my heart and moved me to do so.
I researched and found the leading experts on the subject and gathered them and the leadership of various leading organizations and individuals who were deeply involved in fighting this problem such as legal, law enforcement, pornography, education, legislative, rescue, relocation, and therapy services. At our meetings we discussed everything under the sun including ways to combat the problem ranging from legislatively increasing penalties and enacting federal laws to see that these heinous crimes would come with harsh mandatory sentences, to rescue and treatment efforts, awareness, and so on.
It was one of the most heartbreaking projects with which I have ever been involved. In fact, the ways the children are abducted, groomed, and abused is so evil that ordinary people were too shaken up and sickened from just reading what these little kids go through to watch the presentations we prepared all the way through. Our biggest problem was money. Prior to the think tank, none of the organizations were working together, primarily because there was one pot of money from concerned donors and they all needed it for their various organizations, thus these fine organizations ended up looking at each other as competitors instead of allies and all were trying to stay afloat through the few available donors who supported it. Somehow I convinced the leadership of them to sit down and see how we might all work together.
It was an upsetting time for me because I wanted to see some real progress, and aside from a few small victories here and there we mainly just sat around a large table and talked about the problems of which we were all already fully aware. I had founded and was Chairman and CEO of the Jesus Alliance at the time and could not justify working full-time on this project exclusively, as important as it was, and finally decided to step down from leading it and tend to Jesus Alliance business that I had allowed to slide a little. The think tank had numerous very smart people whom I felt were more qualified than me and I implored them to select one of them to take over my position. Unfortunately, when I stepped down the think tank disbanded shortly afterwards. Ugh . . .
Fast forward to today and the worst fears we discussed around the table have materialized. It has always amazed me how the evil forces in the world are so well funded and those forces for good are working off shoestring budgets. The enemy has access to mega millions to support such causes as drag queens who have been given access to small children in libraries of all places. Mega corporations such as Disney, Target, North Face, Nike, and literally hundreds of other corporations are providing money that is used to further evil sexual perversions to small children and are working towards the legalization of pedophilia. Schools are teaching it beginning as early as kindergarten. The media and their buddies in Hollywood are of course doing their parts. It reminds me of David and Goliath and going against a multi-headed hydra with a slingshot.
Recently a longtime reader wrote to me and asked me to make our readers aware of a child sex trafficking movie that stars Jim Caviezel, (the actor who played Jesus in the Passion of the Christ movie produced by Mel Gibson a few years back). They have fought through a maze of demons to get the movie made and Lord willing it will be released and shown in theaters on July 4th. Much like the Passion of the Christ, it will be supported primarily by churches and churchgoers because the people in the movie business do not want the movie to be seen and won’t allow it to go through normal channels. The movie makers are trying to get 2 million tickets sold so more theaters will pick it up.
It is a true story and though difficult to watch more people need to know what is happening to our children – God’s children. One example from the interview that stayed with me is that some 70,000 plus children have disappeared crossing the border. Where are they? I suspect they are being repeatedly raped and forced to film pornography and statistics reveal that most kids caught up in child sex trafficking will not live to see adulthood.
Don’t think you are far removed from such evil and it cannot happen to your kids or grandkids. All over America and the world kids are snatched off the street every day and 99% are never heard from again. I have enclosed the link to an interview about the movie with Jim Caviezel.
