A dear friend sent me this cartoon yesterday:
I laughed out loud when I saw this; however, most people are seeing red. It is incredulous to watch the media with their unverified reporting on anything Trump. It is ridiculous and is an insult to our collective intellects. Articles make major headlines with jargon similar to this: “An unnamed source said that Trump is feeding Russia our nuclear secrets and the documents the FBI is looking for is the smoking gun that will convince him.” Geez . . . The more preposterous the story the more play it gets. Then after it runs its course there is a page four retraction.
We saw story after story with the Hillary Clinton campaign made up fantasy about Russia time and time again. The question in my mind is how long the American people are going to put up with the lies. Some of the dumber among us believe them, but people are getting angrier and angrier.
I used to disallow anyone from talking politics on my boat. I would snap at them, “What does that have to do with fishing?” I felt then and I feel now that it is just a useless exercise that puts everyone in a bad mood. It is the injustice of it all that drives me bonkers. Hillary Clinton erased 31,000 emails and Obama removed truckloads of documents from the Whitehouse with hardly a word said. But if it is Trump or anyone conservative here comes the machine to seek and destroy.
The world is getting more wicked. I read just this morning where according to some “expert” infants are supposed to be able to discern their gender at birth. A friend wrote me about some friends of his whose church just split over progressivism. He wrote: “Last week I met with 3 old fishing and golfing friends, which is an annual get-together for us.
One fellow and his wife are more on the “liberal” side (she wears the pants) and they have been in great consternation about happenings in their church. It seems that they had a worship leader who came out of the closet a few years ago, which was just fine with them. The pastor and the church leaders continued his employment in leading worship. Very recently, the pastor retired and a new pastor was brought in, and at about the same time their church denomination was splitting between liberal and conservative. The new pastor fired the gay worship leader and the church voted to join the conservative faction. This required a buyout from the old denomination.
Other than these two, our circle is very conservative politically and spiritually. “We were having a very good discussion of some scripture. All of a sudden, this liberal guy said; ‘Do you guys ever question your faith’? This was apparently brought on by what happened in their church, which they had supported and been involved in for many years. They left that church (Methodist) and now attend an Episcopal church, which should suit them as it has the reputation of being very liberal, especially among female members, and supports abortion rights. The bottom line of this sad saga (and I have personally seen it in a church, not once but twice) is that Satan is having a heyday with these folks. Divide and conquer and divide again. Then drive already confused people to a further liberal direction. They call it “progressive”. I only see progress being made in the wrong direction.”
I realize this situation is bad and getting worse and many are sick of it. But take heart, a Ruler is coming that will straighten what is crooked and make everything that is now wrong right. Right about now I suspect God is seeing red. I don’t think He is wearing a Trump MAGA hat but He is against the evil that is increasing in our country. There is hope for those who anxiously await the return of Jesus. Don’t be fooled or deceived God is still on the throne no matter what this world tells us.
