I read an update for relief efforts in Afghanistan and an impassioned plea for help by Franklin Graham famed son of the Reverend Billy Graham and President of Samaritans Purse this morning. As one might imagine Afghan terrorists show no mercy to Christians and it is a shoot-on-sight situation.
He wrote in part: “These Islamic extremists are poised to force Afghanistan back into a dark and brutal state where Christians, anyone who associated with Americans, women, and others face severe persecution and death. Some of our brothers and sisters in Christ are running from place to place, trying to stay safe. Samaritan’s Purse has been partnering with organizations on the ground to get men, women, and children out of this horrific situation. We have been able to sponsor flights that have brought hundreds to safety — one of our partners made three trips that brought out 700 people in one day! We have also supported the evacuation of 80 missionary families via land routes.
We also have a Disaster Assistance Response Team in the region to determine how and where we can best help those who have fled with only the clothes on their backs. We know hygiene items will be urgently needed, and traumatized children will need comfort items and compassionate care.
Only God’s mighty hand can save those trapped in this crisis. Will you join in prayer for the people of Afghanistan? Please pray with me that rescue operations will continue and that more people will escape to safety. Pray for U.S. leaders to have wisdom and a great sense of urgency. Finally, pray that God will continue to lead Samaritan’s Purse as we seek to help those fleeing Afghanistan.

Many in this country including me have been so obsessed with directing anger towards dementia impaired smirking President Biden and horse laughing Kamala Harris for botching this so badly that we have lost sight of the plight of those who are our Christian brothers and sisters. The murders, beatings, floggings, rapes, torture are very real and are occurring as this is written, as is the danger of these poor people trying to avoid capture and detection.
Franklin Graham is right about only the mighty hand of God can save these people, and that is why we must pray continuously for God to miraculously intercede. In the meantime, we must do what we can. Not all Americans are idiots; however, Americans are being ridiculed as being idiots all over the world as our secular leaders bungle practically everything they touch. Former Prime Minister Tony Blair of the UK for example said President Biden was an “imbecile”. Our few remaining friends are baffled by this administration’s behavior as are the people in this country. You can play a big part in fairly portraying the good God-fearing citizens of this great country through prayer and your financial contributions to help these desperate people. We can be a shining light illuminating the world, a light representing Jesus and He will receive the glory and the poor will receive His hope and deliverance.
