I haven’t seen it yet, but I heard that the latest video of Bin Laden depicted him as being gleeful that so many people were killed in the WTC attack. Further he was laughing at the fact that some of the hijackers apparently were not aware that they were being sent on a suicide mission. How can anyone be so evil? How could anyone be gleeful that so many people were killed? I was thinking about this subject as I watched the news and they showed the devastation from the 15,000-pound “daisy cutter” bomb that the U.S. dropped on the Taliban fighters. This is the United States’ largest conventional weapon. Only nuclear weapons are more powerful. It creates a crater 600 yards across and the ground can be felt trembling over five miles from the impact site. This devastating weapon took its toll on our enemies. For a moment there I was “gleeful” when I saw its impact. Wait a minute; I’m not like Bin Laden…Am I? How can I be gleeful that so many people were killed?
“By gosh these people are getting what they deserve”. That is correct.
A job has to be done, but being gleeful about weapons of mass destruction taking out lives is not right. I always try to think of what Jesus would think about something like this. Somehow I cannot picture Him being gleeful when He sees the destruction taking place.
The United States will do what it has to do in order to rid ourselves of these evil people and justly so, but we should take no gleeful pleasure in it. The Bible assures us that Jesus will do what He has to do when He judges the world, but He will not take pleasure in separating those who love Him from those who do not and sending them to eternal damnation. I believe it breaks His heart, but justice is justice and it shall be carried out.

Matt. 6:35
But love your enemies, do
good, and lend, hoping for nothing
in return; and your reward will be
great, and you will be sons of the
Most High. For He is kind to the
unthankful and evil.
Therefore be merciful, just as
your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and you shall not be
judged. Condemn not, and you
shall not be condemned. Forgive
and you will be forgiven.
