Temptation

Everyone faces temptation. Sometimes it is seemingly unbearable to resist. The Bible teaches that God does not tempt, rather temptation comes from satan. It has always been helpful to me to think of it like
that. When you recognize that you are being clearly tempted, satan is
not far away. That can kind of be scary in itself; knowing that satan is targeting us personally. The Bible states that if we resist satan he will flee from us. It also states that God always provides an escape route from temptation and He will not allow any temptation to be wrought against us beyond our ability to bear it. It is up to us to take the escape route. When tempted by satan and it seems that there is no way out, remember that what you are facing is no greater than what we all face and that you can do all things through Christ who will strengthen you.

To defeat temptation try the following three suggestions: Recognize temptation for what it is, satan beckoning you to join him. Look for the escape route that God has provided for you and then take it. Call on Jesus to help you.
