War

All we see on the news is war, war and more war. What causes war? The Bible states that pride promotes strife. People want what they do not have and in many cases should not have. They lust after the things of this world and are willing to murder and kill to obtain them. As we enter this final phase of world history, it is interesting to see “nation rising against nation” and “wars and rumors of wars” abounding just as Jesus predicted that the final days will be like. It is also interesting to see that the Middle East is the focal point of the world.
This tiny little country, God’s holy land, has no natural resources and little industry yet is desired by so many. It will host the final war and then we will have peace. It will not be long from the looks of things. Jesus predicted it all, including that the world will become more and more wicked as we get closer to the time when He will say, “Enough!” and return for His children.

Where do wars and fights come
from among you? Do they not
come from your desires for pleasures
that war in your members?
You lust and do not have. You
murder and covet and cannot obtain.
You fight and war. Yet you do not
have because you do not ask.
You ask and do not receive
because you ask amiss, that you may
spend it on your pleasures.
Adulterers and adulteresses! Do
you not know that friendship with
the world is enmity with God?
Whoever therefore wants to be a
friend of the world makes himself
an enemy of God.
