I got summoned to jury duty the other day. Although I have gotten the call many times, I have never been asked to actually sit on a jury. It seems that I am always the first juror from the jury pool to be struck by the defense. I guess I have the look of someone who will not hesitate to convict, and not a “bleeding heart”. I was thinking about this the other day and I thought about my judgment day. There will come a day when I will be judged and someone who is willing to mete out punishment and will perform His duties will be both the jury and the judge. Unfortunately all of us are guilty and the only question concerns our fate. Some of us will be spared punishment because Jesus Christ already took it for us. The rest will receive the punishment that we are warned about in the Bible. The Bible tells us that “all”
have sinned, and that “the wages of sin is death”. I do not know how it could be put any plainer than that. You can receive mercy by accepting Jesus as your personal Savior today and never have to worry about going to court, or you can be banished from God’s holy light forever. The choice is yours…

James 2:12
So speak and so do as those who
will be judged by the law of liberty.
For judgment is without mercy
to the one who has shown no
mercy. Mercy triumphs over
judgment.
