I broke down and watched some of the Trump defense team shred the Democrat’s impeachment case over the last couple of days. I have been anticipating the Democrat’s next dirty trick and sure enough on the first day Trump’s team launched their offensive the New York Times broke their “bombshell” report of John Bolton’s derogatory comments in his upcoming book that will not even be released until March.
It is insulting beyond the pale for Bolton’s team to maintain that he did not do this for money. Get real – He is trying to sell a book and get back at Donald Trump for firing him in September. Surely the American people see through this, but on the other hand most are so gullible they believe anything they are told by a corrupt media owned by progressives who suppress the truth at every opportunity.
Ever-worsening Fox News cut away from the President’s defense team’s arguments in order that they might interview progressives about Bolton and discuss the impact of this book. It made me furious because this is just the kind of dirty trick the Democrats are known for – their case was getting absolutely destroyed by the truth as presented by the President’s brilliant defense team and suddenly no one is listening. The John Bolton distraction conveniently changed the subject with one stupid article. No one is talking about the defense now; they are talking about allegations made by this greedy little war mongering urchin. Ugh . . . I had to switch it to C Span to get an uninterrupted view of the proceedings.
I was talking with a famous evangelistic member of President Trump’s spiritual advisory team about this dilemma over the weekend. I told him that I believed Satan was just like some of these progressive Democrats. My friend laughed out loud and said he’d heard people say Democrats were like Satan, but not that Satan was like Democrats. I felt a tiny twinge of remorse, but only for a moment as I quickly remembered that according to the Bible Satan is the “Father of all lies” and worse that “he has been a murderer from the beginning.” He is anti-God in everything he does including attacking the sanctity of life in killing innocent babies. He attacks marriage, truth, and embraces corruption. No lie is too outrageous, and nothing is off limits to these dirty politicians or him.
They don’t fight fair. I told my friend it reminds me of me before I was Christian and living on the mean streets of New Orleans and elsewhere. I didn’t fight fair either; my sole objective was to try to destroy my enemy. I was not morally troubled with honor, lying, or anything else. I wanted what I wanted and was willing to do whatever it took to get it.
My life only changed when I asked God to take over and I surrendered to Him. Sadly, I’m still not much of a representative for Him, but I do try my utmost to follow Him and be more like Him. I am a sinner, but I hate sin and despise Satan and his legions of demons. They work 24/7 trying to destroy everything that is good and noble and pure, and holy. Satan has used the things of the world, (money, power, material things) to corrupt so many people. I pray for them daily but cannot bring myself to the point of not speaking out against the evil they spew. Billy Graham once said: Don’t think of Satan as a harmless cartoon character with a red suit and a pitchfork. He is very clever and powerful, and his unchanging purpose is to defeat God’s plans at every turn – including His plans for your life.
The Bible states that Satan is a dangerous enemy. He is a serpent who can bite us when we least expect it. He is a destroyer (Revelation 12:11) . . . He has great power and intelligence, and a host of demons who assist him in his attacks against God’s people (Ephesians 6:11). It’s no wonder that he sways so many people.
So, should we flee to the hills and wave the white flag of surrender? Certainly not – Paul said in Romans “The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” Satan is who he is and so are his followers. Soon enough he will meet his fate and in heaven will no longer be mentioned or remembered. Until then we must keep the faith and recognize him and his followers for what they are. Though Jesus said he did not come to judge or condemn the world He did speak out against Satan and those who foolishly embrace him. Do you suppose since Jesus spoke out, that we should as well?
John 8:44
You are just like your true father, the devil; and you spend your time pursuing the things your father loves. He started out as a killer, and he cannot tolerate truth because he is void of anything true. At the core of his character, he is a liar; everything he speaks originates in these lies because he is the father of lies.”
