I was awakened this morning with a call from my spiritual son a pastor in Ghana Africa. He prayed a beautiful prayer and offered a prophetic vision that he had of me dressed in military gear shooting arrows at the enemies of God. He said in his vision that I had a multitude of arrows and I was shooting them one after the other so fast and furious that my face was covered in sweat.
Last night as I was preparing to go to bed, I heard a gunshot come from across the street. In a few minutes I heard another. It sounded like it was coming from a house where I’d heard people screaming at each other and cursing up a storm just a couple of days before. It is very bizarre because I don’t live in the hood, in fact I live in an otherwise quiet and very elegant manicured gated community and firing a weapon at any time is against our HOA covenants.
I called 911 and reported it. The dispatcher asked if I was sure it was gunshots. I told her I’ve fired enough guns to determine whether or not it was a gunshot as opposed to fireworks or whatever. A police officer soon arrived, and to my surprise the officer was a very pretty young woman. She came to my door complete with bullet proof vest on. I gave her the information and as she was walking back to the car, I asked her to be careful and whispered a prayer for her.
I didn’t hear any more shots and don’t know the outcome, but I couldn’t help but think what a shame to have to deal with such things on Christmas Eve. Then I got an e-mail this morning from one of my good friends who ended up getting in a serious spat with a family member at Christmas Eve dinner resulting in a ruined evening of supposed celebration.
Isn’t it odd that we celebrate the birth of Jesus – Matthew 1:23 “BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL,” which translated means, “GOD WITH US.” And yet on His birthday this kind of stuff happens. Apparently, there is no shortage of enemies of Christ and I’m going to need arrows galore and a multitude of other archers.
God is with us; He personifies peace, love, and joy. Please enjoy your time with your relatives today and every day. GOD IS WITH US. Cling to Him, Run to Him, Worship Him. Have a Merry Christmas because of Him.
Colossians 3:15
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
