So former FBI director Bob Mueller was grilled for hours yesterday by congressmen and women. Desperate Democrats hoped to find something they could use in the upcoming election to excoriate President Donald Trump but were sorely disappointed as the proceeding appeared to have failed miserably. Mueller seemed to me to be confused and did not seem to even know what was in his own report. Against my better judgment I decided to watch the proceeding so I could understand what really occurred and not have to rely on the dishonest media to tell me what happened. The incredible bias of the politicians made the entire exercise seem to be nothing but dirty vile politics and was nauseating. I cringed as I thought of the millions of our tax dollars spent on this debacle that accomplished nothing.

I assume the media will continue ranting about it for days to come. I will not be listening in.

Most of us long for fairness in court systems and in general want the truth to come out and have it fairly evaluated by a totally honest and ethical judge. I’ve been studying the coming judgments by God of every person who ever lived. The Judge for this proceeding, God, will not be biased and will present truthful evidence of what has transpired in all of our lives.

There are two judgments coming, the great white throne where unbelievers, those who rejected Christ, will have their sins exposed for all to see and will be judged and sentenced to an eternity of being separated from God forever in hell. And there is the judgment seat of Christ for His followers which allows rewards to those who have performed works for the Lord. Just as the Bible teaches that there are varying degrees in hell, Luke 12:47-48, for those who have rejected Christ, so there will be varying rewards given to those who have served Christ faithfully, meaning what we do after obtaining salvation affects our forever. It becomes somewhat of a mystery because in Revelation 3:11 it states that all crowns will be returned to Christ out of humility, love, honor, and respect for what He has done.

As a result of being a “new creation” in the Lord, the standard of judgment “according to the flesh” no longer applies to Christians as Christ already paid the price for our sins committed prior to becoming a Christian. Central to this as described in the Bible is the key phrase “In Christ.” It does not mean that in the precise moment of salvation and regeneration when we decide to follow Christ that our lusts, temptations and carnal thoughts disappear. No, they rage on, but with the Holy Spirit’s help the Christian’s way of life continues to align more and more with the Lord every day until Jesus returns and makes us all whole.

My brother used to tell me that he didn’t care if he received any crowns at judgment,; he just wanted to get into heaven and told me he would be content if he could be a janitor. Like him I don’t expect I’ll get many – if any – rewards or crowns either. Perhaps we could form a company Williamson and Williamson janitorial service. Whatever. I guarantee I’ll be happy just to have obtained salvation through my Lord and Savior and spend all of eternity with Jesus.

John 12:26

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, My servant will be as well. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
