Just today I was reading about a journalist challenging an invited guest to a fight at a Rose Garden ceremony at the White house. No blows were exchanged, just nasty words. I then read about the foul-mouthed team captain of the women’s soccer team refusing to put her hand over her heart during the playing of the National Anthem at the celebration for winning the women’s world Soccer championship and instead she clasped her hands behind her back and displayed a smirk. Then I read of illegal migrants streaming across our border unimpeded with one journalist counting 300 in just six hours at one location. Then I read of infighting in the Democratic party and the Republican party; a billionaire who has been raping children for years asking for house arrest at his $77 million mansion; the national debt soaring to new incomprehensible levels; and of course, plenty of routine President Trump bashing. There were articles on Russia, China, Iran and North Korea developing weapons that will destroy the world and even contaminate outer space; articles on Christian persecution and on and on.
What a country . . . What a world
Chaos, hate, violence, perversion, goals of destroying entire civilizations are commonplace.
Where are you God?
The God of love, compassion, mercy, and righteousness already knows where all this is going. In my opinion He patiently waits and allows Satan’s carnage to unfold in order that more people will come to Him and repent before He returns and puts an end to it. We, His followers must suffer through it with him until every last sheep has been rescued.
I have not watched any television in months and in fact unsubscribed to television. I have continued to read the news online. I’m thinking of stopping that. I suppose it is like the fable of an ostrich sticking its head in the sand when confronted by danger. It doesn’t seem to do much for the ostrich aside from getting sand all over its head. Is avoiding the news the same? I just hate to give Satan the satisfaction of discouraging and upsetting me. If I don’t read all the garbage, I don’t get upset over it.
So, the question is should I go on a complete news fast or perhaps a modified fast whereby I monitor the weather for hurricanes and headlines for vital news? Or should I just gorge away on it like some friends I know that never turn Fox news off and soak it all in daily reading everything they can read?
Hmmm . . . Decisions – Decisions . . .
Well the Bible predicts it is all coming down exactly as it is coming down. Don’t be anxious; certainly, don’t worry. The news that is coming will happen just as predicted in the Bible as it describes in detail concerning the End Times in which we are now living, but it also includes God taking His people to be with Him forever in paradise. Rest easy my friends – Rest easy! Everything in moderation. Don’t let it grind you down. God is definitely in control and this too shall pass . . .
Ezekiel 21:7
“And when they say to you, ‘Why do you groan?’ you shall say, ‘Because of the news that is coming; and every heart will melt, all hands will be feeble, every spirit will faint and all knees will be weak as water. Behold, it comes and it will happen,’ declares the Lord GOD.”
