Just forget about it??

Recently I found out that some people that I thought were far better people are in reality liars who have greatly wronged our company and are actively working to hurt it more every day. My inclination is to get even. If I put my mind to it and make it the number one priority in my life, I’m sure that I can exact more vengeance on these individuals than their worst nightmare. It might take weeks; it might take months; it might even be years, but sooner or later I am confident that I can repay them tenfold for what they have done to me and our employees. If I am patient and smart and use all of my considerable resources, and I plan and I plan and I plan and I consider every facet of their lives and how I can adversely affect it, there is no doubt in my mind that I can accomplish my goal. I am good at accomplishing goals.

We have but one life to live. Our days are short and we should make the most of them. Should I be pursuing goals of exacting vengeance on those who wrong me? The Bible says no. The Bible instructs us to turn the other cheek. Jesus could do that, but lowly man has more difficulty with it. I believe that one of the most difficult things in life is to just forget about something like this and move on with your life. We should just “shake the dust” off our feet and move on down the road, but it is awfully hard to do. I’m sure that everyone reading this at some point in their lives have experienced rage at someone who has wronged them. How we deal with it, determines whether we ultimately have peace in our lives. Destroying my enemies will not bring me peace; logically and spiritually I understand that, but oh how hard it is to implement.
What a battle we must fight between good and evil. I will have to pray very hard and perhaps even fast for a month for this one!

Ephesians 4:31
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger,
clamor, and evil speaking be
put away from you, with all
malice.
And be kind to one another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God in Christ forgave
you.
