It is amazing to me to see how God uses those who are obedient to Him. I decided to go public with my testimony many years ago in order to give people hope that God could change their lives like He changed mine, provided they would just listen to Him and follow. It was painful to write a book about it, but I did and even though I wrote it several years ago now, rarely does a day go by that someone doesn’t write and thank me for writing it because it gave them hope for their own situation.
I’ve seen this same thing happen over and again with other people. Some had torrid pasts like me, and others lived completely normal lives, but the common thread among them all is that they achieved extraordinary things for the Lord. I call them the “Difference Makers” and beginning next week and the weeks thereafter I’m going to post one article a week about someone who is making a difference for the Lord. I’m actually writing these for the Jesus Alliance, and they will appear on their website too and be archived there, whereby if someone misses one, they can go there to read it.
If you have not visited the Jesus Alliance website in a while, please do so. We are releasing a new version of it next week and I feel sure you will enjoy it. Please, if you see items of interest posted on it or here on Words for the Day that you like, by all means share them with your friends. It is a wonderful way to encourage others and it may give us an opportunity whereby we can reach them with additional encouraging messages. By so doing you might just have a hand in helping to change someone’s life forever. BOOM SON!
I got another letter just yesterday from a woman who at the young age of 11 was injected with meth by her own mother. Then her mother traded her to some bikers for heroin and meth and they took her to California where she was subjected to gang rape and other atrocities. She finally escaped but ended up in prison and since her release has gone back four times. While in prison she read my book and has turned to God. She has numerous ideas to start a business and I hope that one day she can get out of prison and pursue them. She is trusting in God in either case.
For every person who writes and tells me of the hope derived from my book there must be many others who were helped that didn’t write. I worked hard after becoming a Christian and late in life I was blessed with a small fortune and as a result experienced more nice things in my life than most. Nothing I’ve ever experienced however, comes close to comparing to being obedient in serving the Lord and helping someone, especially when Jesus blesses me with getting a glimpse of the results of my efforts. If you have never led someone to the Lord, or really helped someone in desperate need of help you are truly missing out on one of the greatest thrills anyone can know.
Use your influence with someone beginning today to obtain the greatest thrill in life. Once you experience it you will want to repeat it many times over.
It is my sincere hope that more of you will boldly step out in 2019 and use your God-given talents to help others in their walk with the Lord. Trust me, God will help you every step of the way and at the end of the journey a great reward awaits you. Think about it! Selah . . .
Matt. 9:36
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
