The media is finally reporting some good news for a change. I’m sure that it grieves them greatly to do so, as good news does not sell like bad news. The United States is finishing mopping up Iraq and freeing it from a quarter century of brutal dictatorship.Yesterdaymany of our POWS were released and the final city fell to our forces.Victory is at hand. Or is it? North Korea, Iran, and Syria all loom as evilgovernments. I don’t want to be lumped in with journalists and sound like the “woe is me” crowd, and I certainly believe that when we are on the “peak” we should bask in the sunshine and not worry about the gloom of the “valley” that is always just around the corner. But, while wesavor our victory in our “battle” with Iraq, we must keep in mind that the “war” against evil must continue.
What can we do as Christians in this war? Continue praying for our leaders, troops and country. The good old United States of America is blessed by God, I believe because so many of our citizens are Christians, not the least of which is the President, and I believe that large numbers of us are praying daily for our troops, leaders and country.I sincerely believe that prayer works and that God is responding to them.Even if you are not a true believer yet. Be objective and put two and two together. What country represents Christian values any better? Which country is the most powerful on the face of the earth? Is this just mere “coincidence”? No, we are who we are because God is with those who are with Him.
If we want to stay that way, we must do our utmost to fight the evil in our society and remain under God’s protection. In our own country we must oppose abortion, homosexuality and other sexual perversion, dishonesty in personal lives, business and government, drug/alcohol abuse, and other immoral, antichristian activity. God and Godly people who love Him separate America from other countries and we should not forget it.
