Have you prioritized your life. By that I mean have you ever spent some time seriously considering what is most important to you. Is it family?
Career?
Getting a new home? Car? Leisure time?

My priorities are to put God first in my life, family and career second and everything else third. I list family and career in the same breath, because it is my belief that if you love your family, you will want the best career possible to provide for them. As long as my actions are the same as my priorities I have a good time. It is when I get them out of order that I have problems. If I put my family before God, that will not work out. If I put my career before God, that will not work either.
If I go to the lake on Sunday and skip church, I will be unhappy and out of sync. for the rest of the week. God wants us to put Him first. He openly admits that He is a jealous God and He doesn’t want us to put Him anywhere but first in our lives. Considering what He has done for us, I don’t think it is unreasonable.

The next time you have serious problems in your life, you might check and see if you have “drifted” away and are no longer focusing on the right priorities. I have found that I am always the most happy when I have my priorities in the right order and I have God number one on my mind. If it works for me, it will work for you.

1 John 2:15
Do not love the world or the
things in the world. If anyone loves
the world, the love of the Father is
not in him.
For all that is in the world – the
lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but of the world.
And the world is passing away,
and the lust of it; but he who does
the will of God abides forever.
