A reporter once asked then presidential candidate, George W. Bush who he admired most and his answer was, “Jesus Christ”. Considering today’s secular press that took some courage, (akin to throwing red meat to a crazed dog). President Bush took the heat in good stride and stuck with
his convictions. That is one reason that I admire him.

Who do you admire most in life? Many people admire great scientists, rock stars, movie stars, sports figures, successful businessmen and women, political leaders, and so forth. I do not know about you, but I would very much like to emulate those whom I admire in the hope that
some of what they have will “rub off” on me.

As with president Bush, Jesus Christ should be number one on your list and mine and admired by all. We should try to model our lives after Him. Jesus had courage to tell it like it is, yet He did it with compassion. I often ask myself, “What would Jesus do if confronted with the particular situation that I am facing? I study Christ’s life. I want to learn how He lived His life, how He prayed, what was most important to Him, how He preached, and how He treated people. I want to know what pleased Him and what made him angry. I love reading His parables and sermons.

I cannot speak for anyone else, but candidly one of the hardest things for me to emulate is something the one I admire most insists upon. His unconditional love for the world and something called grace. . .Do you have a hard time loving one another?

This is My commandment, that
you love one another as I have loved
you.

How well do you know the Bible?
The Bible states, “He who hates _____________ hates the Father also.
Fill in the blank.
