Come to Him in time

I have been trying to get some friends of mine to go to church and they are polite, but steadfastly refuse; it is very disheartening. I just cannot understand why these people will not go. They definitely have been personally witnessed to several times by me. They are intelligent, nice people, but they seem to have little or no interest in God.

I wish that there were some way to reach these people. I worry very much about their salvation and what will happen to them if they continue to reject God. I know what the Bible says about the subject and I believe the Bible. I have often been impatient with the Lord, wishing that He would just come on back and take us out of this world, create a new heaven and earth and let us live out eternity in peace and happiness. These friends emphasize how wrong I am to long for such an occurrence. If the Lord were to come back today, I fear that my friends would be separated from God forever. If the Lord delays His return, there is still hope that they will yet see the light and become born again believers of Jesus Christ.

While I long for Christ to return for us, I hesitate to pray for Him to “Come quickly”.

Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of
Corruptible seed, but of incorruptible,
By the Word of God, which lives
And abides forever.
