It has become exceedingly painful to view the news in any format; most of it is nothing but lies and all of it is negative. One would think we live in the absolute worst totalitarian country in the world by viewing the headlines.
Okay so I tried to tune out by tuning in to ESPN and professional sports. Ugh! More controversy . . . Politics, political correctness, and multi-millionaire protestors, who have no earthly idea what they want is all ESPN seems to broadcast.
Uh, okay I’ll take in a movie. Barf! – Just what I need to see, Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Ben Affleck, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Rosie O’Donnell and other perverted scum bags making their millions, which will no doubt be used to disparage this country.
I try to find comfort in my Bible and working for the Jesus Alliance, but I cannot study the Bible and work all the time. So not so long ago I went fishing and smelled the saltwater and felt the wind in my face. I was hooked, (pun intended), and now I’m busily planning offshore adventures and rigging up fishing equipment and my new boat. The timing is perfect because the best sail fishing, wahoo, tuna, and Mahi – Mahi begins in January. But that seems far off. Not to worry, whitetail deer season begins November 4th and sitting on a deer stand watching God’s beautiful sunrises and sunsets completely free from all those who hate conservative Christian people like me sounds very good.
We live in a divided, bitter country filled with haters who are so negative with their, “the sky is falling,” mentality that it makes me gag. Whiners and losers is all they are. They don’t appreciate what this great country offers. We live in an entitlement era filled with those who march around with bullhorns shouting they want justice which translates into more free for me. Everyone wants what they think they deserve.
No one ever gave me anything free. I was Godless, homeless, had been abused as a child, had little education, was addicted, was a certified, diagnosed, dangerous sociopath, and had a criminal record. One day I thought there had to be a better way. I decided to follow Christ. I got a job. I worked hard and got promoted. I raised a God fearing lovely family, made friends all over the world, and I started my own businesses and made tons of money. What a great country. I didn’t get what I deserved. THANK GOD!
If you think you deserve better. Then do something about it. Don’t loot, burn, riot, parade around with a bullhorn, whine, moan, and gripe. Follow Jesus. Get a job, be the first one there and the last to leave, volunteer for every job that no one else wants to do, care about your company and your fellow employees, outwork every employee and work smart. On your time off, go where you can be with God.
Jesus is everywhere, but I find my best times are spent with Him in studying His word, and attending a good church. I find that I draw closest to Him afield. I love to go offshore, or sit on the bank of a pond, or walk through a forest, or desert, or high on a mountain, or even in the Everglades. I feel His presence when alone with Him.
The things in this life will disappear, but we can enjoy some of them right here and right now – The glory of God is where you find it and it remains forever. . . Ignore Satan’s negativity – Take pleasure in all that God has made just like He does.

May the glory of the LORD continue forever! The LORD takes pleasure in all he has made!
