So sad that yet another mass shooting took place at a concert in Las Vegas last night. 20 dead and over 100 injured being reported as I write this post, and it is still early. It is kind of weird for me because I awoke this morning at 2:46 a.m. and began praying for our nation, our world, and the many bad and sad things I see happening right now. Grievous events like the hurricanes and earthquakes, racial hatred and unrest, threat of nuclear war, rioting of left wing groups like Antifa trying to eliminate free speech, NFL billionaire owners and mega millionaire players refusing to honor our country and those who gave their lives defending it, a divided Congress so driven by partisanship they jeopardize the livelihood of all citizens, a dishonest media, and even people within the body of Christ backstabbing and betraying one another.

As soon as I got up and learned of the massacre, I immediately prayed for the victims of this mass shooting and their families. I urge you to do likewise and I also urge you to pray for this nation.

Invariably the same question arises: “Why? – Why would God allow this to happen to our nation?” It is the irony of all ironies that Satan does this murderous destructive work and no one seems to even acknowledge his existence, much less blame him. It is our loving Father who undeservedly receives the blame.

Something that is fading fast in this country is the realization that there are consequences to sin. We cannot sin against God and His laws and not receive the consequence of so-doing. It began with being banished from the first paradise, the Garden of Eden and continues to this day.

Our nation rejects God at every turn. Schools have banned prayer; sports have banned prayer; the military has banned prayer; the government has banned prayer. God’s foundational laws, the Ten Commandments, have been banned, nativity scenes are disallowed, merely saying Merry Christmas is even forbidden in many companies. Followers of Christ are being discriminated against in the workplace, media, schools . . . everywhere. Christians are now the most persecuted group in the world.

We have become a sinful nation with no respect for God. God is being mocked and He will not allow that. Gal. 6:7 – Do not be misled: God is not mocked. For whatever a man might sow, that also he will reap.

Where is God? Rest assured He loves us and wants to help, but our sins are preventing that. God is watching and waiting for us to invite Him into our lives and to repent. He loves us and wants us to love him. He will not tolerate Christians or non-Christians alike embracing sin with impunity. The following verse spoken by Jesus Himself sums it up better than I: Rev. 3:20 – Those I love, I rebuke and discipline. Therefore, be earnest and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me. To the one who is victorious, I will grant the right to sit with Me on My throne, just as I overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne . . .

Is our world under judgment? Yes! Most anyone who has studied the Bible much at all would agree – probably.

Why would God judge us? Because we do not love Him and obey His commands. If we did, He would bless us. Read His words: Due. 28:1 – If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth.

Most of the world is under the sway of the deadly combination of money, sex, and power. Oddly all three are temporal and fleeting like the morning mist, and will disappear as quickly as the sun appears. God’s rewards for those who follow Him are everlasting.

I watched 60 minutes last night and NASA revealed the latest photos of the heavens from the Hubble deep space telescope. From what they can now see, thanks to this marvelous instrument, they estimate there are 100 trillion GALAXIES each containing billions of stars. God, creator of all that is seen and unseen, rules it all. And yet we microdot, insignificant, creatures that He lovingly created dare to mock Him and curse His name.

Why did He send His one and only Son to leave His heavenly throne and live a perfect life and then sacrifice it for the sins of the world in order that we might live with Him in His glorious paradise? It seems unfathomable.

Why? – Why would He do that?

The answer is that He loves us with a love that cannot be comprehended. If you don’t remember anything else concerning this post, remember God’s love for you as you face your own personal grief and trials. Love God and obey His commands and He will bless you my friends.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
