A friend sent me a text that was in line with some thoughts I have been having for several weeks now. She said;
“The solar eclipse was on the 21st; Hurricane Harvey showed up the 25th and Texas experienced catastrophic flooding on the 26th. Now lookup Luke 21:25-26 – There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth, dismay among the nations, bewildered by the roaring of the sea and the surging of the waves. Men will faint from fear and anxiety over what is coming upon the earth . . . ”
Of course, what she didn’t mention is that there are two other major hurricanes currently in the Atlantic barreling towards Florida and one, Irma, is the largest ever recorded in the Atlantic and is even more powerful than Harvey. Another has formed in the Gulf of Mexico.
Fires are burning up the western part of the USA and last night there was an earthquake in Mexico that measured an astounding “8” on the Richter scale which will likely trigger a tsunami.
North Korea set off a major Hydrogen bomb September 3rd and is threatening the USA with nukes. There are many other potential wars on the verge of breaking out, and ongoing wars such as Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq, and many African nations such as Somalia.
Matthew 24:6 – You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains . . .”
In ancient times, these would all be interpreted as Biblical warnings being manifested to us concerning the wrath and coming judgment of God.
So, is the Lord on the verge of coming back?
No one knows the exact time, but Jesus told us to read the signs of the times such as listed above. He also prophesied that the condition of the hearts of mankind will have grown exceedingly wicked . . . Legalized homosexual marriage, Planned-Parenthood-abortion-on demand, Child Rape now the number two criminal enterprise in the world, second only to drug trafficking, increase in the occult, disobedient children, hearts of many have turned cold – Nazis, Antifa, KKK, Black Lives Matter, Skinheads, New Black Panthers, ISIS, Al Qaeda . . .
Hmmm . . . 1 Timothy 4:1 describes the last days as “perilous times” because of the increasingly evil character of man and people who actively “oppose the truth.”
I hear you Lord . . .
Ever hear the term globalist? It is quite fashionable among the leftist elite. Other possible signs outlined in the Bible indicate the advancement toward a one-world government with no borders.
Keep in mind that these are birth signs and the end is still to come. While the events may signal the approach of the last days, they are not necessarily indicators that the end times have arrived. The apostle Paul warned that the last days would bring a marked increase in false teaching. “The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” Matthew 24:5 – “For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
The most prominent sign of the end times, however, is the nation of Israel. In 1948, Israel was recognized as a sovereign state, essentially for the first time since AD 70. God promised Abraham that his offspring would have Canaan as “an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8), and Ezekiel prophesied a physical and spiritual rebirth of Israel (Ezekiel 37). The Jews returned to the Holy Land in 1948. Having Israel as a nation in its own land is vitally important because of Israel’s prominence in End Times prophecy including rebuilding of the Jewish temple in Jerusalem, and increased hostility toward Israel.
With these signs in mind, we should be wise regarding the end times. We should not, however, interpret any of these singular events as a clear indication of the soon arrival of the end times. God has given us enough information that we can be prepared, but we need to keep working hard until His return.
Revelation 22:20
He who is the faithful witness to all these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!
Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
