I just returned from vacation and what a difference I notice in myself from when I left. We did not plan a tremendous amount of activities on this vacation and consequently I enjoyed a tremendous amount of badly needed rest. Our society is fast-paced and packed with stress and not designed with rest in mind; however our bodies need rest. In the beginning even God rested after the creation. He ordained that we should rest as well. Unfortunately we run ourselves ragged and wear ourselves to a frazzle weighing ourselves down with the pressures of the world.

We do not just need rest for our bodies, but for our souls as well. The Bible teaches that we should rest in the Lord. We should cast our heavy burdens upon Him. Jesus wants us to turn over our problems and headaches to Him and we should not worry about anything. It also states that we can do anything through Christ Jesus who strengthens us, thus God provides strength and rest. We should provide rest for our bodies and our souls and all will be well with us. Taking a nice relaxed vacation every now and then helps too…:-)

Matt. 11:29

Come to me all you who labor

and are heavy laden, and I will give

you rest.

Take My yoke upon you and

learn from Me, for I am gentle and

lowly in heart, and you will find

rest for your souls.

For My yoke is easy and My

burden is light.

How well do you know the Bible?

Jesus stated that among those born of women there has not risen one greater than _______________?

Matt. 11:11
