I have told my testimony about how I became a Christian to many people.
Many have told me that I should write a book about it and I am undertaking that project as well as producing a CD/DVD containing my personal testimony. It is amazing how God completely transformed my life. Indeed no one from my former days would have ever believed that I could become a Christian or believe it without seeing it with their own eyes. My life is not perfect by a long shot and I am still riduled with imperfections galore, but it is so much better now than when I was a non-Christian that it is like night and day. It is my desire that my testimony will give hope to those who are miserable and mired in sin and perhaps feel that they have sinned a little too much to even approach a holy God, much less make it into heaven. As Christians we know that God’s love for us knows no boundaries and that there is rejoicing all over heaven with EVERY conversion of a lost soul to Jesus Christ. Jesus wants to forgive us and cleanse us of our sins and that is why He gave His life on the cross. He can work miracles in anyone’s life, regardless of their past, just like He did in mine. We as Christians know that, but many non-Christians do not, hence the reason that we must get to work.
We all have a story to tell of our lives prior to becoming Christians and after. The Bible tells us that we are to go out into the world preaching about the “Good news” of Jesus Christ and what His presence in our lives means to us and can mean to anyone who chooses to accept Him as their personal Saviour. What is your testimony? How did you become a Christian? Have you ever told anybody? Or is it some dark secret that you feel VERY uncomfortable discussing? Maybe you think that your story isn’t that spectacular and that you really never did anything “over the top” and no one would be interested in learning how you became a Christian and what it means to you. Wrong! The Bible compares the opportunities for sharing the word of God to a vast field ripe for the harvest. My testimony might not mean anything to some people that your testimony would literally make the difference in their spending eternity in Hell or heaven.
If you have never shared your testimony with anyone, then make plans to do so today. I personally guarantee that it becomes easier each time that you do it. Jesus said that He will be right there with us helping us find the right words. Imagine seeing someone in heaven who might not have made it had it not been for your taking a few moments with them and explaining what God has done for you and what he wants to do for them.
There are “soul winning” classes in practically every church that will teach you how to lead others to Christ. Why not take one? I sincerely believe that as a Christian it is the single most important thing that we can do for our Lord. Time is getting short and we must evangalize the world. By every Christian contributing by sharing their testimony, more lost souls will escape eternal damnation and condemnation. Don’t be a Christian who merely attends Bible study and church and does nothing but enrich their own life; be a Christian who works for the Lord and His most important work and lead someone to Christ this week.
Matt.10:32
Therefore whoever confesses
Me before men, him I will also
confess before My Father who is in
heaven.
How well do you know the Bible?
Jesus gave the great commission when He arose from the dead and appeared to the disciples. Believe it or not, even when they saw Him some worshipped but some “doubted”! What did Jesus say?
Matt. 28:17-20
