Yesterday I wrote that modern era media rarely puts anything good out there, and instead floods the airwaves with the most disgusting vile news they can find throughout the world.
I would like to play a part in changing that and asked for readers to keep an eye out for good news and send it to me so I could share it with you. My hope is to share something every day that will warm your heart and remind us that the kingdom of God begins here on earth.
Do you remember the prayer Jesus prayed in Matt. 6:12? “So then, this is how you should pray: ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven . . . ” Yes, God’s kingdom is to be established on earth as it is in heaven. God is love and His kingdom begins with love – We are to love all – Serve all!
Jesus declared, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”
There is a song sung by Dionne Warwick that I enjoy very much. Its lyrics are as follows:
“What The World Needs Now Is Love”
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone
Lord, we don’t need another mountain
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
Enough to last ’till the end of time
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No, not just for some but for everyone
Lord, we don’t need another meadow
There are cornfields and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine
Oh, listen, lord, if you want to know
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
Some people get it. Check out this contribution by WFTD reader Kay Smith:
The man who gave the shoes off his feet to this homeless girl.
This motorcyclist who stopped to help an old woman pass safely.
The person who decided to put new tires on a stranger’s car just because he needed it.
Okay what are you going to do today to usher in the kingdom of God? Focus on the light of Jesus and ushering in His kingdom and not the trials and sorrows that emanate from satanic oppression and enjoy the peace of God which surpasses all understanding. Loving on someone is valuable, why it’s like knowing where to dig for gold.
John 16:33
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”
