I read an article published in a major newspaper that was penned by a well-respected evangelical leader. He wanted to explain why he voted for Trump and prefaced it with a long denunciation of perceived misdeeds of Hillary and Trump which in Trump’s case included vulgarity, bigotry and narcissism. I was struck by the fact that he seemed to go right down the line of Democrat talking points, saying he made “outrageous comments about Muslims and Hispanics.” He went on to write: “Hillary’s rather superficial Methodist claims looked pretty good compared to Mr. Trump’s more or less practical, if not philosophical, atheism. Mr. Trump was personally and morally unacceptable”.
President elect Trump is guilty as charged when it comes to vulgarities. He has expressed them and we’ve all heard them played over and again on every form of media. The same is true for narcissism, he is arrogant, cocky, and self-assured; it is in his very nature. But other parts of this article are, to put it politely, sheer poppycock.
Most importantly is his statement that Trump is a “practical if not philosophical atheist”. Mr. Trump confessed and asked for forgiveness of his sins, expressed that he believed that Christ took the punishment for his sins by being crucified and stated that he believes Jesus arose from the grave three days later and is God. He was led in his conversion by none other than Franklin Graham. He is not a practical nor a philosophical atheist, and his sins are forgiven and the Bible tells us he is as “personally and morally acceptable” to Jesus as the evangelical leader who wrote this and any other believer. This is irrefutable at least to those of us who believe what the Bible states about grace.
The other thing that perturbs me about this article was his reference towards Trump being a bigot. It is not bigotry to desire that Muslims or any immigrant be thoroughly vetted before entering this country. Nor is it bigotry to round up immigrant criminals who entered our country illegally and ship them the heck out of here and/or incarcerate them for crimes committed in this country. Those who committed violent crimes such as murder, rape, drug cartel distribution, and so forth are the ones he states that he wants to focus on and I say sic ‘em Donald!
The radical socialist left wing is a master at manipulating the media and lying about practically everything and it is sad but the average citizen believes them. Consider that NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Google, Facebook, Moveon.org, Media Matters, New York Times, the Washington Post, and a myriad of others collaborated and spent over $1 billion to try and destroy Trump’s character going back decades with thousands of researchers pouring through documents, videos, interviews, articles, etc. trying to dig up dirt on Trump.
Yes they proved he was carnal and he committed sins. What would one expect of a pagan? I’d hate to undergo that scrutiny of my life; would you? Some have publicly expressed doubt that he is now a believer. Sounds like they are setting themselves up to do the Lord’s work and taking on the role of judgment. Careful because the same standard applied to them will be applied to those who engage in such a foolhardy endeavor.
Basically our country has been fed propaganda for many years. The CDC has published data that shows that only 3 per cent of our population is homosexual and yet their agenda is blared on every form of media and it has changed public opinion on things like homosexual marriage adoption, military service, using bathrooms of one’s choice, and so on.
Atheists are tiny in number and yet they have forced the majority to remove prayer from schools; they forced taking down the Ten Commandments and other expressions of faith from public places, they prevent people from mentioning Jesus in the military, even at funerals, praying at a football game, and so on. How do they do it? They control the media and the media tells people what to believe.
Well they were dealt a harsh blow in this election, but don’t be smug, they aren’t throwing in the towel and in fact at this very moment are planning how they can undo the damage done to their anti-God agenda. Those of us who voted in this latest election dealt with them harshly, and not only gave the Republicans the Presidency, but both houses of Congress, the overwhelming majority of governors, and legislative majorities in most state governments.
