I am saddened by the plight of native Americans in this country. People who come here legally or illegally from all over the world are given food stamps, money, education, immunization and so on, but Native Americans receive little to nothing. They were here before white men came and stole their land and herded them to reservations. There they live in run down house trailers and abject poverty and with few exceptions have limited opportunity to go to good schools. Many are total alcoholics or drug addicts. Most have turned to casinos for their money which encourages them to gamble and engage in all the evil associated with it including prostitution, excessive alcohol use, and drugs.

These are human beings with souls just like you and me. God loves every last one of them with a love that is so intense it cannot be adequately described. Why have these people been singled out to suffer the foregoing? Your guess is as good as mine, but God works in mysterious ways and there must be a good purpose for it. For one thing they are pagan and worship much of nature, (sun, moon, white buffalo, eagles, bears, etc). Is this harsh treatment a consequence of their belief system or is it something else?

Only God knows for sure. My grandchildren, as young as they are, have all gone on mission trips. They go to faraway locales for the most part. Why doesn’t someone go to the Indian nations as missionaries? Folks all over the world (including Native Americans) need to hear the gospel preached. If they don’t who receives the blame? I would think God would assign responsibility for it to every Christian in the world who has ignored their plight.

I encourage you to look into this and follow your conscience which I believe to be the Holy Spirit.

Mark 16:15
He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation . . .
