So, I’m presently at remote Denali National Park and I have no Internet service. Hoping my phone will have enough power to send this out. I had a crazy dream last night. Senator Diane Feinstein was hitting on me and rubbing her leg on mine and it was bizarre. As I looked at her in disgust, she smiled a devilish wicked coy look and I almost hurled on her. She looked very old and had so many wrinkles I could barely see her eyes.  She had way too much lipstick and was wearing hunting boots and a black dress.

I awoke in a cold sweat. I was wondering what my dream meant and I don’t believe for a second it came from God.  In Ancient times dreams were very important and Joseph and others interpreted them from time to time and in his case saved the nation of Israel because he correctly interpreted Pharoah’s dream. In the past, God sometimes spoke to people in dreams to coincide with big events. Other examples are Joseph, the husband of Mary; Solomon; Daniel; and Matthew. There is also a prophecy of the prophet Joel, quoted by the apostle Peter in Acts 2:17, that mentions God using dreams. So, God can speak through dreams, if He chooses to, but I don’t think it is for this age.

I always keep in mind that the Bible is complete, having revealed everything we need to know from now until eternity. This is not to unequivocally say that God does not work miracles or even speak through dreams today, but anything God says, whether through a dream, vision, impression, or “still small voice,” will agree completely with what He has already revealed in His Word. Dreams cannot usurp the authority of Scripture.

I’ve never read in the Bible of Senator Feinstein hitting on me while wearing  hunting boots. I wondered if it came from hell. Some people think Satan or demons are infiltrating their minds during nightmares like mine, but there is no passage in the Bible to directly substantiate this. I only found one possible exception and that was of a dream Eliphaz claimed to have had, there are no biblical incidents of demonic forces communicating with people during dreams or nightmares.

Most likely, nightmares are nothing more than the brain’s way of contending with our fears and concerns as it continues to function during sleep cycles. I’m not going to waste any time trying to figure out this dream. I attribute my dream to the King Crab Alfredo that I ate too close to bedtime last night.

Eccl 5:7
Much dreaming and many words are meaningless. Therefore fear God.

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!
