I haven’t watched the news on television in over a year now. Sometimes I scan news websites to see if we are in a war and I always come away madder than a hornet knocked off its nest.

I predicted most of what would happen prior to the election of the Democrats and now it is happening. Illegal immigrant chaos, higher taxes, media lying to cover the lies of government, Woke culture stifling free speech and cancelling anyone who dares stray from the acceptable choice of words and content, attacks on religious liberty, attempts to do away with guns, rising gas prices. Sadly it is like a runaway locomotion racing down a mountain. I wonder if there will be any survivors of the crash . . .

I just walked out on my deck to catch a glimpse of the sunrise. I’m reminded of the old sailors poem, Red sky in the morning, sailors warning – Red sky at night, sailor’s delight. I would say that the sky for America looks about like this photo:

This morning I studied Psalm Chapter 37 and it was just what the doctor ordered and was like applying salve to the open wound received from reading about what is going on in this country. Here is a sampling of the verses that appealed to me,

Do not fret because of those who are evil or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon wither, like green plants they will soon die away . . . Consider the blameless, observe the upright; a future awaits those who seek peace. But all sinners will be destroyed; there will be no future for the wicked . . . A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found. But the meek will inherit the land and enjoy peace and prosperity.

“The meek shall inherit the land” was quoted by Jesus during His Sermon on the Mount. So my friends it is simply a matter of time. God said it and I have no doubt that it will happen. We need to try to muster some patience and keep the faith. I’ve had my fill of the news for a while and intend to just go fishing. Why does anyone in their right mind listen to all that depressing junk day after day.

Psalm 107:28
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distress. He calmed the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed. They rejoiced in the silence, and He guided them to the harbor they desired . . .
