Today is inauguration today – Well that sucks . . . Biden is arguably the head of the dumbest administration ever and if that is not enough is preparing to add to it with transgenders and miscellaneous radically liberal nutcases to lead our nation right down to the abyss.
He states that today he will direct that the XL pipeline will be shut down translating to lost jobs and ensuring that gas prices will go up as he dismantles not only that project but the energy industry in general. Iran is dancing in the streets as they celebrate our appeasement policy to be reinstated and I’m sure are looking for another few billion of our tax dollars in exchange for more lies about not manufacturing nukes. Caravans of jubilant people who want to immigrate illegally are on the way to our border. China has patiently waited for this day so they can pick up where they left off in stealing our jobs, technology and exportation of their communist slave labor goods. Trump and the 74 million people who voted for him are still being attacked post presidency by RINOs and Democrats alike.
I wonder how long it will take to dismantle all the good things Trump did for the country including instituting the best economy ever, strengthening restrictions on abortion, building back our defense, achieving dominance in the energy industry, bringing back manufacturing jobs, appointing sane judges to the bench and constitution-loving Justices to the Supreme Court, rolling out a China policy that made sense, overseeing our embassy being moved to Jerusalem, and progress on improving religious liberty issues.
The other day we went fishing and as soon as one dude got on the boat, he immediately started discussing politics. I looked at him and sourly asked, “What’s that go to do with fishing?”
Hmmm . . . Need to take my own advice. I apologize for venting to you this morning. Getting in a rage about this stuff is like getting mad because it rains. It does absolutely no good whatsoever. The rains will come and stay as long as our sovereign Lord decides to allow them.
We are studying the book of Job in our Bible study and I have a hard time with it. Here was a righteous God-loving man and the Lord turned him over to Satan to destroy his wealth, family, and his health. When his trials began and the tribulation was at its height, this righteous man cried out for relief but only received trouble. Job who was covered in painful boils began cursing his birth as he realized that God would not allow him to die. He still did not curse God nor did he contemplate suicide but railed and cursed the day he was born and repeatedly asked God (five times) why He allowed him to live, but God who is not obliged to answer to him or us remained silent.
Tough love – This book clearly shows that we should not assume that God automatically rewards righteousness with blessings and that suffering follows sin. Just look at the life of Jesus and you will see that. While we often reap what we sow in this world, it is important to understand God’s graciousness is not for sale or barter. i.e. Even if we give it our best effort, He does not automatically reward us by sparing us adversity. Sometimes even those who are the most upright suffer for reasons known only to God. Job was taken care of in the end as will we, but he did not escape adversity. It seems to me that the upright will suffer the most under this new regime. After all those who seem to think right is wrong and wrong is right will achieve their worldly desires.
Why Lord?
Those answers are known only to God. I have faith in him and am prepared to suffer through whatever adversity is thrown my way. I am determined to continue loving God and respecting His sovereignty and I will remain faithful to Him until His return or my promotion to heaven whichever comes first. Centuries after Job questioned God about his trials, Jesus, who suffered as none other, asked God why He forsook Him. So it seems to me that I would be in good company if I asked the same question. Realistically although I would like to see His plan revealed it is far above my pay grade as a simple servant.
So I will just continue to trust God through the good and hard times and restrict my conversations to fishing. I don’t know why bad things happen to good people I do know that God who did not spare His only begotten Son did not escape His passion, but willingly died on our behalf.
He loves us! That’s enough for me.
Mark 15:34
And at three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?” (which means “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”).
