Well it was not a good night. It appears that the relentless campaign against Trump by the media and in particular social media took its toll. His New York coarse personality hurt him badly. I read that exit polls revealed that more people voted against Trump than for Biden, but the net result was not good for the country. In the end the propaganda won the day over accomplishments and our country will suffer.
Basically there was no blue or red wave and things in this country will likely not be vaporized, at least right away. Our citizens are polarized for as far as the eye can see. I have wondered where God is on this; it seems He has left us to our sins and their consequences.
I read where a renowned preacher is calling for us to get behind our leaders and support them and quoted Scripture to reinforce his position. There are three main spiritual issues that I cannot and will not support: Abortion/infanticide, persecution of Christians and repression of worship, and failure to support Israel. We must not capitulate on these issues and are to obey God and not leaders when they depart or conflict from the Word as it is written.
I will never support those issues and I don’t believe God would ever want me to. My feeling is that we must remain strong in our core belief system and adherence to the Bible. Many powerful church leaders are departing from the word of God faster than bats leaving a cave at dusk. Many of these preachers are the problem rather than the solution.
One example of a world recognized church leader, the Pope, who recently came out in support of gay marriage. The Bible clearly states marriage should be between one man and one woman. The Pope seems to be inhaling too much incense.
It is gray and gloomy in the Keys today and it fits the bill for the bad mood that I’m in at the moment. But there is light shining somewhere down the tunnel and the end of the election in the next few days and weeks away is one thing we can celebrate. I stopped watching the news almost a year ago and will not listen to the Dems gloat. My advice is to focus on Jesus and remain steadfast and faithful and keep marching towards the light.
I pray for those who are so disappointed in the election including myself. We must remind ourselves that the Lord is God – He is almighty! He loves us with all of His heart and one thing sure He has set aside bright sunny days ahead that await all those who love and serve Him.
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
