Each week I intend to publish a post that I published 20 years ago. As with today’s re-post it is amazing to me how little things have changed including my perceptions of events so many years ago. You might not agree with me but you must admit I am consistent.

“My first encounter with inaccurate reporting came when I had an article written about me in the newspaper. I was astounded at how different the article was compared to my discussion with the reporter. It was more fiction than truth. Later I became friends with a publisher who owned 42 magazines that were hunting and fishing oriented. I spent considerable time working with this individual to conduct a sportsmen’s show at the World Congress Center. During this time I discovered that several writers for his magazines were not even sportsmen at all. In fact one female employee was an avid anti-hunter who routinely wrote and edited articles on deer hunting under a pen name. She developed quite a following. Figure that one out, it was a standing joke at this company.

I published my own magazine for fifteen years and also published nineteen books. At a convention one time I overheard a couple of guys arguing about something that I had written an article about. One gentleman emphasized his point by exclaiming that he knew it was true because he read it in my magazine. The other guy said that he didn’t know that and yielded the point. This was amazing to me because both of these guys knew far more about this subject than I did and actually I had kind of speculated on the point they were arguing. They accepted my slant on things because I had written it in a well-respected national magazine. I influenced this industry more than I care to admit through this powerful medium.

I have known a few people who were involved with politics and this sordid business has to be the worst. I don’t believe much of anything that is published about politicians. (Think about it most politicians are attorneys). Many famous people have bitterly complained about the inaccuracies perpetuated by the media. Most of the stuff that we read is wildly embellished and, in some cases, just made up.

I believe that there is a satanic influence that controls much of the media. Satan has always been a liar; he invented it. Satan is many things, but unfortunately for us, one thing he is not is stupid. He is aware of the media’s influence on people and takes advantage of it.

Have you ever watched MTV? It is satanic and totally disgusting; however it is very popular with our young people. Ever wonder why so many people involved with influencing us and educating our children, (including those who write books and who teach) are not Christians and scoff at Christianity and try to ridicule and make fun of Christians?

Ever wonder why so many television anchormen and reporters dismiss Christianity as being a fairytale? Be careful that you are not deceived and know what your children are watching on TV and what they are doing on the internet. Satan would have us believe that right is wrong and wrong is right.

God’s law remains the same in spite of what is currently popular.”

Hebrews 12:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,
today, and forever.
Do not be carried about with
various and strange doctrines . . .
