I once traveled to San Jose Costa Rica and then had to take a bus all the way to the pacific west coast to go fishing. It was a grueling drive of several hours through jungles and steep mountain rocky roads that were little more than trails. About half way through the journey the driver inexplicably stopped the bus and got out and walked across the road. He cupped his hand over his mouth and began grunting and suddenly a couple of howling monkeys appeared in the trees, and their screams attracted others and before I knew it, they were joined by dozens of the nasty looking critters. They were screaming for all they were worth and jumping up and down in the trees like they had lost their minds. It was quite the humorous spectacle.
The whole scene reminds me of the spectacle facing the confirmation hearing for Judge Kavanaugh today. The crazies will be out in force today and the louder they scream the more howling monkeys will appear. Left wing demonstrators will no doubt fill the gallery and scream away until they are arrested and then paid off by a Soros inspired operative. Lies will flow, and commentators will blow. The entire world will watch and laugh at us stupid Americans.
Somewhere a socialist/communist country’s people will watch and wonder if they want this form of democracy in their country. Others will simply laugh at the melee. But Christians everywhere should be saddened and deeply ashamed of what we have allowed our country to become. By failing to vote for decent God-fearing people, our great land
has been overrun by howling monkeys. Most don’t have ethics, or integrity, are immoral and will lie about anything to obtain their goals. If someone’s life is destroyed they laugh about it.
Decency and fairness are no longer guaranteed. How ironic that these hearings are to confirm one of the highest judicial posts in the land and so many insist a man is guilty of something that occurred 35 years ago with a simple accusation not given under oath, and no corroborating witness and without listening to both sides of the story. He is resumed guilty instead of innocent. Then comes a porn lawyer with a wild story that has been debunked and another and another.
I received a text from one of the Jesus Alliance faithful Prayer intervention team members this morning asking if our prayer call would be cancelled due to the Kavanaugh hearings. I responded that it was going forward, but if he wanted to miss, of course, that was his choice. As for me I can’t think of a more important day to pray, not just for the Jesus Alliance but for Judge Kavanaugh, his family, our constitution, our country, and even for the howling monkeys that they might find a better path.
While some might find it strange to pray for those who fight against God and His church, remember this is what separates us from them.
Romans 12:18
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
