I’ve been praying hard for three years for God to assist me with something of great importance in my life. As of today, He has not answered my prayer. Though I faithfully pray with vigor day and night, I have not heard even a peep from Him regarding this important matter.
Is there a power outage from heaven?
LOL – No, God’s power output remains powerful beyond comprehension and uninterrupted, and cannot be denied.
Is He just too busy managing all of creation to listen and pay attention to my prayer?
No, for the Bible states that every prayer is heard by God Himself.
Psalm 66:19 – But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer.
I know some of you will be quick to say that sometimes the answer is no, but this prayer will eventually be answered in the affirmative and what I’m praying for will happen, further my request is most certainly within His will for my life.
The only conclusion I can come to is He’s telling me “Not now,” and delaying
my request until He is good and ready to grant it for reasons known only to Him. Jesus tells all of us in Matt 7:7 to: “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek,
and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you,” But after three years of intense pleading, it becomes frustrating. So much so that some even lose their faith over it.
I’m certain most of you at one time or other have prayed and prayed and prayed until you were blue in the face and then . . . nothing . . . At times like these it can be very depressing, but we must continue to look to His word such as: John 15:7 “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
I don’t know why God is delaying my request, but I have not lost faith. I also realize I am to continue praying. The Bible says that we should “Pray without ceasing.” Jesus told the parable of the woman who kept incessantly banging on the door of a neighbor at midnight until he finally got up and gave her the bread she needed to reinforce the notion that we must continue asking and asking.
I am encouraged by other answered prayers. I met an interesting man the other day. His name is Kevin Malone and he spent 17 years in Major League Baseball, much of that time as a VP/General Manager. He ended his career in Los Angeles as EVP/GM of the L.A. Dodgers.
He became an ardent follower of Jesus which was reinforced in 2013, when
God performed a miracle and brought his 23 year old son back to life after he had overdosed. He and his friend Francis Chan and film director Brian Ivie made a short film (20 minutes) about the amazing mercy and grace of God. The
film is currently in five languages and the Lord Jesus is using it to bring many
to saving faith.

It is one of the most powerful videos you will ever watch, and I highly encourage you to take the time to view it. In the film, Kevin’s wife stated that she did not want their son to die without knowing Jesus and she prayed without ceasing for the opportunity to tell him about Jesus. Even though he was on life support and the doctors told them he had died they kept praying for months refusing to pull the plug. Kevin prayed so hard he was nearly hysterical crying out to God. Finally his prayers were answered. His son has made a remarkable recovery and the video will surely bring tears to your eyes at how he has turned to Christ. Kevin retired after this incident is now in fulltime ministry and is focusing on ending the demand for child sex trafficking among other things. God is using the entire family for His purpose in a mighty way.
Remain faithful my dear friends and keep praying. Your prayers and mine will be answered . . .
John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
