I was watching television commercials played on the National Championship game last night. The first was about a miniature sized, overtly homosexual guy dressed in tights who was attempting to sing in a falsetto voice and twirling around in an effeminate way in an effort to promote Diet Dr. Pepper. That ad was followed by a commercial for Taco Bell that depicted Taco Bell as “Belluminati” referencing the 1000-year-old darkest form of Satanism, Illuminati with dark imaging used by Illuminati worldwide.
Ugh! I am weary of this type of thing being shoved down our throats by major companies and I want to rebel by boycotting their products. But it’s rapidly becoming the norm and if it continues soon I suppose I’d be living alone in the wilderness dressed in woven camel hair and eating locust and wild honey and perhaps a Chic Filet sandwich now and then.
I’m curious as to how an advertising company can convince an otherwise sane corporate leader to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to run ads like this garbage. The CDC reports that 2 ½ % of our population is homosexual and I would imagine Satan worshippers are a smaller percentage than that. So, the question looms, with such a tiny fragment of our population that is of that persuasion, why would ad after ad with similar themes promoted by major companies be run?
Is it an effort to convince society that these activities are the norm and should be accepted?
Uh – yeah!
Well folks, no matter how much some might want to embrace this junk, be it in the name of love or being politically correct or whatever, the Bible remains the same. It simply states that it is sin and we should refrain from it. I’m sure that Hollywood and other champions of the right is wrong – wrong is right crowd loves every minute of these commercials, but they make me want to barf.
Some would tell me to chill out, that it’s harmless and just good fun. I disagree. Our society and, our youngsters in particular, are being targeted and indoctrinated faster than anyone imagines. Acceptance of marriage between two men or two women (or more) is approved by 72% of the population as opposed to 25% just a decade or so ago. So, our society and for that matter the world may consider it fashionable, but God who created the world and everything in it, states unequivocally that it is sin.
Sin has consequences. Take for example, the transgender fad made so popular these days by former Olympic star Bruce Jenner. The suicide rate for transgenders is 41 percent, which vastly exceeds the 4.6 percent statistic of the overall U.S. population. That’s almost half the transgender folks out there, and yet now arrives a new television show depicting an otherwise normal family with a young boy dressed as a girl who is dealing with feelings of wanting to be a girl instead of a boy. The light-hearted show obviously encourages others to enter a dangerous spiral of death and unhappiness.
Satan wants to destroy us. He deceives us into thinking sinful behavior is fun, but in the end, it results in heartbreak. God established laws because He loves us. He knows all too well the consequences of breaking them, and we would do well to look beyond the glitter of Hollywood and the glitzy advertising of Madison Avenue.
The Bible says that “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). This not only refers to physical death, but to eternal separation from God in hell: “But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear” (Isaiah 59:2). This is the foremost consequence of man’s rebellion against God.
God is crying out to us to listen. Paul made it abundantly clear that sin has consequences: “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows” (Galatians 6:7). Paul then describes the end of those who indulge in sinful behavior:
Galatians 6:8
“The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction”
