My son Jon sent me the below and wrote: “I thought this was pretty cool. Re-enforcing the lessons that were taught throughout my lifetime.”
This kind of says it all. Knowledge is 96% but not enough. Hard work is 98% but again not enough. Attitude equals 100%. Yes, Jon that’s pretty cool.
It really makes me proud to see this on my son’s whiteboard. I don’t know how much of this I taught him, (his life’s experience referred to above), but as his father, longtime CEO, and one of his mentors, I’d like to think that I had at least a small part in the formation of his good character, and the same for my other two boys Jim and Michael.
The Lord blessed all three enormously. One thing for sure they were taught by me were the principles within Proverbs 9:19 – “For the reverence and fear of God are basic to all wisdom, Knowing God results in every other kind of understanding.”
Fear in this case can be equated to deep abiding respect. Reverence and deep abiding respect of the Lord result in a good attitude and good things. No doubt about it.
Of course the world thinks otherwise. They make fun of God and thus are filled with pain and misery. What do the scoffers have to say about Proverbs 9:19? Don’t even bother wasting valuable time worrying about it . . .
Proverbs 9:8
Do not reprove a scoffer, or he will hate you, Reprove a wise man and he will love you. Give instruction to a wise man and he will be still wiser, Teach a righteous man and he will increase his learning.
