This morning I read the following article on Pix 11 news:

HARLEM, Manhattan — A 12-year-old boy allegedly pulled a gun on a classmate and demanded she give him a chicken nugget earlier this week. Police said it was his second attempt to get a chicken nugget from the girl. The boy noticed the girl buy chicken McNuggets at a Lexington Avenue and East 103rd Street McDonald’s on Tuesday. He asked her for a McNugget and she refused.

The boy allegedly followed the girl into the 103rd St. train station, pointed a gun at her head and demanded a McNugget again. The girl smacked the gun away from her head and told the boy to leave her alone.

She boarded the train unharmed. The girl later saw the boy showing the gun to another child on the train.

Police took the boy into custody on Wednesday after the girl reported the incident to school officials.

And then I read this article in USA Today:

HUNTSVILLE, Texas – Texas on Wednesday put to death an inmate convicted of killing two men over a drug deal, the first U.S. execution of 2017. Christopher Wilkins, 48, was declared dead at 6:29 p.m., 13 minutes after a lethal injection of pentobarbital.

Before the drug was administered, he twice mouthed “I’m sorry,” to two relatives of one of the murder victims as they watched through a window. He gave no final statement . . . Wilkins was released from prison in 2005 after serving time for a federal gun possession conviction.

I felt God was showing me where this little boy would end up unless he can find Jesus. Then I prayed for this child and asked God to bring him someone who would steer him toward Jesus, disciple him, and become a Godly mentor who would love and teach him right from wrong before he ends up on death row. I thanked God that the little girl was not killed over a chicken McNugget.

So these articles were buried fairly deep and were overshadowed by fake news designed to discredit incoming President elect Trump. It seems that the press is more determined than ever to hinder his presidency at every turn and are in fact obsessed with exposing some fault in Donald Trump. It is simply nauseating to watch them launch attack after attack while ignoring stories that actually reflect the depths of despair that many in this country have reached due to single parent homes, poverty, etc. Much of the rest of the news is centered around making Obama a hero and memorializing his farewell tour and self-aggrandizing speeches ad-nauseum.

If the press would aim their mighty machine at stories such as bringing problems to light such as this young person having such a warped outlook of life that he would put a pistol to the head of a girl while trying to extort a chicken McNugget of all things, just imagine how much progress could be made.

I think the media is one of the most destructive beasts in society right now. I believe it has become the most powerful tool in Satan’s arsenal. I urge you to do as I have done and write to them and more importantly their sponsors and demand that they report the truth and get rid of the politics and bias. God has made it abundantly clear to me that the world is ruled by money and not conviction and if enough people will demand that advertisers not support the lies or they will lose business, there is a chance for objective reporting.

You are probably saying, “Yeah and pigs will fly any minute now,” but I say if we don’t start somewhere then truth will never see the light of day and we desperately need it in this society. What we have tried so far hasn’t worked; why not give this a try?

“Let us rejoice in the truth, wherever we find its lamp burning.” – Albert Schweitzer

“I believe that in the end the truth will conquer.” – John Wycliffe

Psalm 43:3

Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!

Have a great weekend and go to Honey Lake Church or somewhere this weekend . . .
