So, what to do?

Our nation mourns the senseless murder of precious school children who died at the hands of a crazed gunman last Friday. So now our illustrious president vows to do something about it. Great! No one wants a tragedy like this to occur.

So, what to do?

Well he seems to think that our nation should take away our right to own guns as a solution.

The first recorded murder was a fellow by the name of Abel. He was murdered by his own brother Cain, who hit him in the head with a rock because he was jealous of him.

So, what to do?

Should Adam and Eve have confiscated all of the rocks in the fields surrounding their home?

Yesterday I met with the Mother, father, sister, and aunt of Alex Mc Donald. Alex was the intern who worked at Honey Lake. He was just 23 years old, handsome, well liked, and in fact the president of his fraternity. He was getting ready to graduate from Florida State University and his father walked for him at graduation this weekend. He was a young man who had his entire life ahead of him, but his life tragically ended when he was cut down by a hit and run driver on Thanksgiving Day.

They caught the man that ran over Alex, (and yes he’d been drinking). Alex’s mother gave me an 8X10 glossy photo of him and I’m looking at it as I write these words. I’m incensed that someone would end his life and I want to do something about it.

So, what to do?

Should we assemble the National Guard to begin confiscating cars?

Our country suffered when a couple of home grown nuts built a bomb and then took out an entire building that included some school children in Oklahoma City. Timothy McVeigh was executed for that heinous crime and he was defiant right up to the moment that he drew his last breath. It turns out that he and his cohort(s) built their car bomb out of fertilizer.

So, what to do?

Should we ban fertilizer?

Not a day goes by without some fanatic wearing a homemade vest full of explosives blowing themselves up and killing innocent bystanders including innocent women and children. It has become so commonplace in the Middle East that we hardly take notice anymore, even when a hundred or more people lose their lives. Their methodology employs the use of bombs laced with nails to ensure maximum devastation.

So, what to do?

Should we decree that nails can no longer be used?

In order to resolve a problem we must first identify it. The problem is not rocks, guns, automobiles, fertilizer, or nails, the problem is evil. The way to win out over evil is to turn to God.

The Bible tells us that in the “Last Days” that the world will begin to turn its back on God which will bring on increased wickedness that will result in the hearts of many growing cold. The lunatic who shot his mother in the face and then murdered all those innocent babies before killing himself is a prime example of someone whose heart had grown cold.

The problem is that our nation cannot expect to turn its back on God and have God continue to protect and bless it. We are getting ready to celebrate the birth of God’s only Son, Jesus Christ, who came to this world for no other purpose than to give His life in exchange for our evil sins, and a majority of our citizens today are too politically correct to even say Merry Christmas.

For crying out loud, do you see some irony here?

Jesus predicted that many will come and claim to be God. He predicts that Christians will be persecuted for their belief system. As we watch the rise of Muslims and the decline of Christianity worldwide it is enough to make the hair stand on end on our necks to see His words being fulfilled.

We are not allowed to voluntarily pray in schools, or display a Nativity scene in front of it. Teachers are encouraged to ridicule the Holy Bible and cannot mention creationism unless in the context of debunking it as being a myth. The Ten Commandments, (that tell us it’s wrong to murder), cannot be displayed, but free speech allows diabolical people to post bomb making instructions and hate on the Internet and watch filth and violent radicalism through any number of media outlets.

And… we cannot pray to our God, but we desire His protection of our classrooms?

Huh?

Right after 9/11 tens of millions of our nation’s citizens filled the aisles of churches and humbly came before our mighty God and asked for comfort and reassurance that can only come from Him. We need that today, but I have a bad feeling that all that we will get is a bunch of two bit antichrist politicians who will attempt to take away guns from a nation that needs them to protect themselves from the godless whose hearts have grown cold.

Dear God please have mercy on this nation!

Matthew 24:3

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.

“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
