Last night I went with Governor Mike Huckabee to some prayer rallies in various churches in Orlando and Ocala. I found him to be humble, warm, intelligent, a great man of God, and witty and it was indeed a pleasure meeting him. My job was to give a short testimony of how God transformed my life and thus there is always hope and then to introduce him. His job was to convince potential voters that this election is not just the most important in our lifetimes, but the most important since the founding of this great country.
Not just our economy, but our way of life including freedom, (especially religious freedom), is hanging in the balance. Governor Huckabee made these points far more eloquently than I can and I wish you could have been there to see him.
He stated unequivocally that the Bible indicates that marriage is a VERY big deal to God and Jesus equates it the relationship that He has with His church. Governor Huckabee said the Bible clearly states that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Obama is the only president in history that has said otherwise.
He talked about the sanctity of all life and the atrocity of killing babies, especially late term abortions. He reminded the audience that Obama was the ONLY senator to vote not once, but three times to prevent doctors from saving a baby that somehow survives an abortion attempt. The Governor asked the audience if he would vote to kill a perfectly healthy baby because it was a burden socially or financially to its mom, what would prevent him from invoking the same policy towards an elderly or disabled person, (maybe even one day YOU) in an attempt to save money or whatever other reason his board of appointees decide to come up with.
Regarding Christians getting off their couches to vote, he made the point that it is our obligation to elect God fearing men and women to office and he used the following statement made by Jesus in Matthew: “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.”
Back in the time Jesus roamed the earth there was no refrigeration and salt was the only means to prevent something like fish from putrefying, (rotting). If we as Christians allow our great country to morally decay and become foul smelling with antichristian leaders, are we not disobeying His command? If so, we are in danger of being thrown out and trampled.
Today, (in Florida), it is the last day that you can register to vote. If you have not done so, then by all means do so today. Time is running out and soon the vote will transpire. Do your part to reclaim this great country. No one is perfect aside from Jesus Christ, but we can vote for the person who best represents our views of morality and that happens to be Mitt Romney this go around. We need more salt!!!!
Proverbs 25:26
Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked.
