The Words for the Day web server is still down and those in charge of it are fit to be tied. The guy that manages my personal websites has been giving their company’s personnel the dickens and it is so unnecessary. I mean after all they are working around the clock to try to fix it and “raising Cain” at him isn’t going to get it up one second faster.

Oddly this same guy is the first to cry and whimper if I start “raising Cain” with him when his office has a problem, or drops the ball on something beyond his making and you would think he would be a little more sympathetic.

The other day I had to admonish some employees for similar conduct. One guy just cannot seem to get over the fact that one of his fellow employees made a mistake; (albeit, it was a serious one), but the guy fussing the most about it has messed up so many times he’s lucky to even have a job.

Oh but that’s different…NOT!

We see this all of the time in the church. Someone exhibits some un-Christian behavior and all the “good” folks pick up stones and start circling them. Jesus said let the one without sin be the first to throw that rock and they all left beginning with the oldest, (and no doubt wisest), man there. Not one single hypocrite was left standing after Jesus wrote something in the dirt, probably the Ten Commandments.

Today we need to give those around us a break. We all are just trying to get through this imperfect world in these imperfect bodies, trying to please our perfect God. Jesus wouldn’t have had to die for our sins had we been able to do so on our own. Think about the fact that in His own words He said He did not come to condemn the world, or to judge it, rather to save it. Be tolerant and kind today and if tempted to let someone have it for making a mistake, maybe take a long hard look in the mirror prior to doing so.

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!

John 8:7

When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”
