I have watched the debate about Obama’s quest to supply contraceptives, sterilization, and morning after abortive pills to women at the taxpayer’s expense with interest. It seems he has successfully turned it into a women’s rights issue and no one seems to care about religious rights anymore. To some, (mainly the Catholic Church), all of the above goes against their deeply held moral and religious beliefs.
When a furor developed over this issue within the Catholic Church, Obama, (always the politician), quickly declared an edict that instead of the Catholic Church having to pay for it, insurance companies would now be forced provide this free coverage. (Never mind that the constitution does not allow a president, whether he thinks he is an imperial emperor or not, to declare that a private business has to pay for someone’s birth-free sex life.)
We are being told that we should ignore that some owners of insurance companies might be Catholics, or be of a different denomination and have those same religious convictions themselves, or that it is hardly fair for a private company to provide free products to someone because our president wants to do it.
Like the pharaohs of old, Obama declared, “So let it be said and so let it be written”, and that is the end of the conversation; his will be done in this matter.
Then comes a huge distraction that got Obama off the hook; mega radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh wreaked havoc like a bull in a china shop when he reasoned that Sandra Fluke wants the taxpayer and others to pay for her to have sex and thus that makes her a slut and a prostitute. Predictably his sensational observation suddenly riled the liberal media to frenzy, and then hordes of enraged women began circling like sharks drawn to fresh Limbaugh blood and forced his sponsors to demand that he retract that statement.
He did so and in just two days and the issue of religious freedom from oppression was lost in the furor and the woman Fluke became a celebrity and champion for women’s rights on all talk shows virtually overnight.
Unfortunately the masses in this country now think that Catholics and others with similar religious beliefs should just shut up and go along with the crowd and quit being a bunch of moronic right wing religious fanatics who are against women’s health.
What is next? Are taxpayers going to be ordered to subsidize the purchase of sex toys and pornography for those days no one sleeps over at Ms. Fluke’s house?
I wonder if this issue is the beginning of things to come. Some of you (like me) are adamantly opposed to abortion and yet everyone’s taxes subsidize these procedures including the hideous procedure of partial birth abortions through Planned Parenthood. Let me pull a Rush Limbaugh on this one too; this in effect makes us an accessory to murder. I don’t see much difference from Hitler ordaining that German citizens round up Jews and put them on boxcars headed for Auswitch, and killing an unborn yet perfectly healthy child of God.
I realize that some of you think that this is a ridiculous thing to say.
No what is ridiculous is that taxpayers paid Andres Serrano $15,000 through the National Endowment of the Arts for a rendering he did entitled “Piss Jesus”. This so called “artist” immersed a plastic crucifix with Jesus nailed to the cross on it in a jar of his urine. It won the contemporary arts competition. When taxpayers are forced to pay for this sort of thing by our government, we could be forced to pay for most anything with an antichrist theme.
Does this make your blood boil? Well, try to simmer down. The Bible tells us that the world hated Jesus before it hated you for being one of His followers. It goes on to say, “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you”.
Jesus explained that people hate Jesus and believers because they do not “know Him“. And then He makes an interesting point: “They would not be guilty if I had not come and spoken to them. But now they have no excuse for their sin”.
As I write about this today I know full well that it will generate a firestorm of criticism and cause many folks to unsubscribe. So be it. I don’t have any sponsors and there will be no apologies. If you hate me I am in good company with Jesus Christ. Go listen to those heroes of yours who condone sin as the progressive order of life and modern society, but you cannot say that you have not been warned.
I am reminded of something that the prophet Ezekiel once said about his situation when trying to warn the Jewish nation to repent: And whether they listen or fail to listen–for they are a rebellious house–they will know that a prophet has been among them.
Not enough people speak up for fear of retribution from the societal trend setters who know all.
Matthew Henry once said, “Nothing fortifies men’s corrupt hearts against the convictions of the word, more than the high opinion which others have of them; as if all that gained applause with men, must obtain acceptance with God. Christ silenced them. But the sin of the self-conceited and self-confident remains; they reject the gospel of grace, therefore the guilt of their sin remains unpardoned, and the power of their sin remains unbroken.”
Our society is condoning terrible things and yet we continue to fail to vote our conscience and remove the antichrist faction from our government, or even say anything about it. We are not blind to these travesties, but so many of us fail to listen to our hearts and speak out against injustice and religious persecution as our rights are trampled by a society hell bent on our destruction…
John 9:41
Jesus said, “If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.
