I have a friend who is fearful of what is happening in our country and world and he is buying up guns and ammo, bags of rice, beans, salt, cases of water, and other provisions for a bunker that he has built and he’s converting cash to gold. He strongly believes that there will be bands of angry mobs hell bent on anarchy in this country and world at large and he ain’t going down without a fight.

Are these so called “Wall Street” protestors the beginning of the end that he foresees? The news this morning is that the protestors are going to relocate their demonstration to the homes of wealthy people. I’d truly hate to see them demonstrating here at Honey Lake Plantation, piling up refuse, marching, shouting, and chanting with bullhorns around Honey lake scaring away all of the blue herons, ring neck ducks, and squirrels.

I haven’t started building a bunker yet, because frankly when I see news clips of these people in New York and Washington D.C. I have a difficult time envisioning them putting up much of a fight to any red blooded American, especially us country boys down here on the farm who can tattoo a crow at 200 yards with a .223 varmint rifle.

I make light of it but what about anarchy and the Bible. My concern is for Iranian Christian Pastor Yousef Nadarkhani who has been sentenced to death in Iran because he will not renounce his faith in Jesus Christ. I’ve been praying for him daily ever since I heard of his plight and ask you to do the same. I’m also praying for the Coptic Christians in Egypt whose churches are being burned to the ground, whose wives and daughters are being raped, and for those Christians who are being slaughtered by the Muslims. I shuddered as I saw many being murdered by their country’s own army as armored vehicles ran them over at top speed on the crowded street.

I hate to sound like an alarmist, but the Bible predicts apostasy that is hauntingly similar to this. It also predicts that our churches will become defiled and society will take what is right and call it wrong and vice versa. It predicts the growing hatred of the world for Israel. There are many signs of the second coming of Jesus Christ being ushered in, but it seems they are unheeded by a world obsessed with unbridled lust for everything but God.

I told my buddy that the Bible clearly tells us not to worry, stating that such things must come to pass, and that we shouldn’t be afraid because the Lord will protect us forever. He grinned and nodded his head, but I saw the gleam in his eyes when he excitedly told me without missing a beat about his new AR 15 with its infra red scope. “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death because I will fear no evil, because I’m the baddest son of a gun on this planet” came to mind as I listened to his diatribe.

He can put his faith in his bunker and guns, but as for me I’ll put my faith in God and the Bible. Whatever will be will be. Just keep the faith is my motto. (Okay – Full disclosure – I have an armory too. Not because I don’t have faith, but because I intend to defend my freedom.)

Yesterday a few took exception to my remarks about the US Presbyterian church ordaining an openly homosexual minister.

Well lah-de-dah…

I mean give me a break will you. I didn’t write a single sentence in the Bible. If you prefer to put your faith in a denomination that states that it’s okay to ordain homosexuals as ministers then you have a God-given free will to do so. As for me I’m going to obey the commands in the Bible and I have a free will to do so.

I’m often asked what denomination I am. My response is that I believe in the Bible. I didn’t see anywhere in the Bible where Jesus endorsed any particular denomination and my goal is to emulate Him. I believe the Holy Bible is His only communiqué with the world. I’ve read it cover to cover so many times that I don’t even remember and I study it every morning without fail. The churches that I attend preach directly out of the Bible and don’t modify it to suit their congregations, or to demonstrate that they are politically correct. I don’t view the Bible as needing improvement and I am not an apologist for what it states. God is my Creator and He calls the shots in my life via His Bible and I intend to stand with Him and whatever He states is right and be against whatever He states is wrong and I intend to do so forever.

Noah preached for 120 years without a single convert. Then one day at a time of God’s choosing, the Lord told him to load his family up and shut the door. I’m sure plenty of people ridiculed him, called him an alarmist, religious fanatic, right wing fundamentalist, and made fun of him, labeling him an all around nut. Then the flood came.

According to all of my Bible study, I believe we are living in the last days. What this world needs is revival and our nation needs to ask for forgiveness. We need to humble ourselves before almighty God and turn away from the evil that has permeated our society including liberal churches that sanctify wickedness. If we do not, then the anarchists will bring upon themselves and this beautiful planet utter destruction, (just as sure and certain as they did in the days of Noah).

2 Chron. 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
