For the last couple of weeks I’ve felt like a large volcano that is nearing eruption. The global economic scene is awful and stock markets worldwide are so volatile that just a little more mishandling of them could trigger global panic and possibly financial collapse of entire countries. The United States with its bankrupt economy, downgraded credit rating, and free spending, reckless, blowhard president and stalemated congress is enough cause for outright depression by its own right, but my pressure doesn’t end there.
Even normally peaceful and serene Honey Lake Plantation has presented very serious problems and dealing with getting it back on the right track and whipping it back into shape has been stress filled and exhausting. I would say I’m glad it’s Friday, but it looks like I’ll be working right through the weekend to deal with it.
Grr-r-r-r-r-r!
I was patrolling our property long before daylight this morning checking security and the moon was as full as I ever remember seeing it. It was stunningly gorgeous and looked like a gigantic resplendent Florida orange suspended in the inky black sky. I wish I could adequately describe just how beautiful it was as it reflected its glowing luminous radiance back across Honey Lake through centuries old majestic live oaks draped in Spanish moss, but it’s impossible.
It was so beautiful that I just had to stop and just sit there in my truck and stare at it in wonder and awe.
As I did so, I pondered my situation and a big smile suddenly crossed my face. At that very moment God made me realize just how fortunate I am and how insignificant all of these seemingly “serious” problems really are.
I’m in God’s capable hands and He’s in full control my good friends. There is no need for Mount Bob to erupt today or any day. God vented my volcanic hot air in one majestic moment this morning as He gently reminded me, “Hey what are you so worried about, I’m still around. Everything is fine. Just chill out and relax, everything is going to be fine”.
Praise God who is as pure and refreshing as a crystal clear mountain spring flowing through the Sahara Desert. The world with its anarchists, thieves, liars, low-life scums, and murderers is no match for the grace of our righteous God. One day, hopefully soon, He will set all things right. It is His guarantee to His children whom He dearly loves.
Aren’t you glad you know Jesus and follow Him and not the world?
Have a great day today, smile all weekend long, and go to church this Sunday!
Matt. 28:20
Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
