Oh magnificent Father in heaven we come to you in humble adoration and we praise your holy name as does all of heaven. We submit our lives fully to You and we earnestly ask that You empower us to accomplish Your every purpose for our lives. We thank you for all that you have given us and for the great nation that You allow us to live in. We ask that You continue to provide for us and to protect us from the evil that surrounds us and abounds in this world as we move into these last few days before Your glorious return.
We ask on this special holiday that You give us a spirit similar to Yours, and that You will make us more compassionate and forgiving. We especially ask that in this time of great economic distress within our nation that You make it incumbent upon our hearts and instill a tremendous burning desire to help others who are less fortunate. Dear God mold us into becoming “cheerful givers” in complete obedience to Your desire and will for our lives.
Lead us and protect us from temptation oh Lord for you have the power over satan and all of creation. Protect us from our enemies, and especially be with those Christians who live in Muslim countries and today are being persecuted and killed and living in daily fear for their lives because of their deep abiding faith in You Lord. Oh God please keep our soldiers safe throughout the world and as they witness the unspeakable horrors of war, comfort them as only You can do Jesus.
Most of all we thank you for Your mercy and amazing grace oh God. Give us the abilities that we need to witness to those who are lost and to spread the good news about Your wonderful redemption through Your Son Jesus Christ. Glory be to your name forever. Amen
Matt. 6:19
Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust will destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Thanks – Giving
