A guy I know went fishing far offshore. He had one of those awesome days where the fish just seemed to be everywhere and he caught fish until his arms were weak and trembling. He stayed out all day and nearly ran out of gas. Pressing his luck, he came in on fumes and his boat fuel gauge was barely registering when he arrived. He pulled into the marina and went directly to the fuel dock and without paying attention to what he was doing he filled it up with pre-mixed gasoline, (gas and oil mixture), instead of the premium unmixed gasoline that his engines were designed to run on.
He only discovered what he’d done after he was through pumping.
Gulp
His awesome fishing day was no longer beautiful and it did not have a happy ending. He could not start the engines for fear of fouling them with the oil mixture and had to call a marine mechanic to pump out and drain the tanks. He was several hundred dollars lighter, exhausted, and frustrated beyond belief before his nightmare ended.
I was recalling this incident this morning and it made me think about all of the empty people in the world who are filling up on the wrong things. Booze, drugs, illicit sex, power, fame, money, porn, material things and the like and its ruining their lives. They’re using the wrong fuel for their systems. We were designed by God to be fueled by Him. Anything else just fouls our engines and shuts us down. We should get our fuel from the word of God and keep in mind that we need refueling daily.
Think about it Won’t you

How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you
