Well tomorrow is my 64th birthday. Yes I’m getting old and I have the aches, pains, poor eyesight, and hearing infirmities that go along with old age. I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to crawling into my brand new glorified body and tossing the reading glasses, waking up without my back killing me, and giving up trying to read lips.

The Bible doesn’t have much to say about what we’ll look like or what attributes we might have. Hmmm I wonder if we’ll be able to fly. Will those who died as children still look young or will we all look the same? I’ve often thought heaven couldn’t really be heaven without some children running around playing. I wonder if that freckle faced girl in high school who had a crush on me will still have freckles. No doubt there will be a tremendous halleluiah choir and some singers that will literally be out of this world.

Time will no longer be a dimension. I mean forever is forever, right? Bummer – No need for birthday cakes. No nighttime, does that mean we won’t ever sleep? My wife won’t like that. The Bible promises that all things will become clear. Does that mean we’ll go to school? Will Jesus be the teacher?

We do know that there will be no time, no sin Revelation 21:27, suffering or sorrow (21:4), no curse (22:2), no sun, moon, or sea (21:1, 23). The old heaven and earth will have passed away, and Satan, his angels, and those who chose to follow him will have been cast from God’s presence (20:11-15). In heaven there will be a new creation, with the saints who will have new bodies and who have been fully perfected. There will be the singing of new songs Revelation 5:9; 14:3. And he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb, in the middle of its street. And on either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations Revelation 22:1-2

I saved the best for last. I will never sin again!

Matthew 5:48
Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect”
